So potentially i have 2 more years to follow my Club before we draw the Curtains ?

Haha…...try being an old Magpie
been there, done that,....yada yada....next

My Club is Wests Tigers, what is the difference from an old Magpie to an old Balmain Tiger, both got the same treatment.

FT… Ink is talking old Lidcombe times... We are WT fans as well, believe me.

They were still the Magpies at Cambelltown before the JV.

We were kicked out twice, and fought our way back…that was my reference...and thats the difference to Balmain, which is why I posted what I posted

Loved Rick Wayde and his fund raising to keep the maggies going.

Well i wasn't aware that you were actually kicked out and fought your way back.

Pappas and Gould came out on Twitter to kill this off. People need to wake up Fox, News Ltd through the Telegraph, Fox News will come out hard against the NRL as they have been outflanked by Dave Smith. They are making up stories. There won't be a break away league but the strategy the NRL is using is a master class. It just forced Fox to overspend on the AFL and if ratings keep up and there is another bidder outside of Foxsports the NRL could extort a fortune off fox as they will lose heaps of subscribers unless they acquire simulcast rights. The state of NRL reporting is dreadful so biased by News Ltd it makes those reporters lose all credibility. The Telegraph and Fox NRL reporters are a laughing stock.

Hang on - not that it is true anyway.

Balmain FC owe money to the NRL not the Wests Tigers.
The NRL do not control the Wests Tigers - it is an independent board.

Why would we be one of the 4 left out? Don't understand.

Don't want another competition myself but would love to see Smith / Grant / Goldburg? and Richardson dismissed from the NRL - we maybe able to get ahead then.

The rot usually starts at the top…....true....

Like it or lump it, but many WT supporters have a history with one of our parent clubs and only started following the new entity because of that connection, even if it took longer for some to accept. He'll fifteen years ago they were our only supporters. That history forms part of our memory, just like former partners or long lost friends are part of our fabric.

As long as we are not disparaging each other because of our differing pasts, for mine it should not be an issue at all and see absolutely no problem in bringing up the past when there is some context. Geez, we even have a user by the name of Newtown, he lost his first team, then second, and now on to his third?

I'm well aware of that formerguest…..and quite frankly never brought the past to begin with and on that note don't care of any of the pasts JV .

Seriously haven't got the energy to talk about this.......as Originally my Original comment was Wests Tigers related but as many on here like to talk matters of the past .

Rothfield sent a tweet today about the NRL only being 4 teams soon… Pretty classless that bloke!

Once all this big Money came in to the game ? it wrecked it .

No shoulder charges , no punches…..Gee a contact sport has been absolutely ruined by the Corporate dollar.

Money has a part to play in the problem, but there is a lot more to it than that. Legal risk is one of their main motivations. And as well as that, they are looking to make the game more attractive to women, for better or for worse. Overall the NRL is probably on the track they need to be on but it is hard for those that have followed the game for a long time to accept no doubt.

I am quickly losing interest in this game.
They will also make 6 rule changes before next season.
This is not the RL that I followed and loved as a kid.

I understand the sentiment, but unless you are really young, no it's definitely not the RL that you followed as a kid.

I watch a few season 90-91 games the other day, and you can hardly recognise the tactics and game plans compared withe modern day.

Hell it was 25 years ago, you might as well try and compare the 1990 tournament with 1965.

Big money and big heads
The cash can make or break things , this could be a break things time , but as we all have seen , Wests were treated like crap , Balmain got some similar treatment , Norths got drilled , Newtown are gone , bring back Norths , Newtown , bring in Mounties , bring in Wenty , BUT we are still here as one and we will still remain as one , the fans will have a lot to do with these outcomes , if and a big if it does happen and there is a breakaway comp , so be it , we will still have our team and we will still get some footy and it will be on a more level playing field in terms of money and power , I think we would be very similar across the comp

Wests Tigers , Dragons , Bears , Newtown , Wenty ,Mounties , Central coast , and so on

But I may be way off here , who knows

Anyone who sees this as anything other than Rupert throwing his toys out of the cot because Smith wouldn't let him bend him over the barrel need their head read.

I'm not big on celebrating when someone kicks off, but my oh my will it be a happy day in Rugby League when that decrepit old fart is lowered six feet under.
