Coach and CEO interview

I feel Part 3 has been the most informative of the lot at the moment, really like this segment and what they are doing.

Its kind of come out of nowhere. They deserve credit for taking the initiative. For whatever faults they may have, no one can say they aren't transparent.

Good to get some clarification regarding the ISP team next year and we can finally put all these rubbish WA links to bed for good.

Im not as positive as others are on these interviews. Great idea, poorly executed.

Most of it has been cringeworthy. Cleary is unable to finish a single thought without diverging onto another thought.

I have less confidence in Pascoe than a month ago. His obsession with this Hawaii game truly worries me. Does he really think that a one off game in Hawaii, that would likely be attended by less than 10,000, is somehow going to grow our brand? It is hubris of the highest order.

If they are so keen to promote our brand, why would you muddy the waters by playing as the Magpies in ISP. Another extremely poor decision and is an indication that the old cronies who destroyed a great club for 30 years are back in charge. Disappointing to say the least.

C of E was my question too

6 other NRL clubs have submitted for stadia funding.
Is it $40M the amount available after ANZ & Parra stadium money spent?

Yes the $40m is seperate to the other stadium funding

It was committed and set aside for centres of excellence for NRL clubs as part of the deal with the NRL and around the stadiums

This one was heaps better…faith restored...thumbs up..

As to the edge defence ...Ivan..'It's not just the winger..it's often that whole side the centre the half and even the second rower'..well bugger me...trying to fix some things on the run but it's difficult...We will defend differently next Year...Yay...

Can we please set this up as an auto-reply every time someone trots out some hyperbole about Nofo's defence? The bloke definitely isn't without fault, but he's a symptom, not the sole cause.

?? really? i doubt hes obsessed with hawaii. Hel look at the benefits and costs and make a business decision. Hardly obsessed.

I thohght Cleary anssered the questions clear enough for me. He went off he tangent a couple times but it was the same topic so no problem.

I dont mind the magpies being named as the nsw side at all.

Can anyone explain why our reserve grade next year is the magpies and not wests tigers. Is this because there is no Balmain voting rights on the Board? Surely a united wests tigers all through the grades is the way to move forward

Yes I'm sure the 150 people who follow ISP will be outraged…

Doesn't seem to effect the Brand recognition for Souff's Roosters Cronulla or Canberra with their feeder teams...at least our will still have Wests in the name...the Wyong Roos-ters should be worried...

Part 3 was good again...Pascoe's head is getting weirder...

He has mentioned in five different interviews in the past month.

As someone who has deals with real business leaders every day of the week, the more I hear from Pascoe the more he comes across as an amateur.

I have supported him and will continue to do so for now but I am apprehensive.

You on the bus with these videos now Geo?

Pascoe' head is longer than Langmack's.

Part 2 got me back as it more focused on the now…Probably went off early with Part 1 as it seemed to not even acknowledge we are still in 2017...which was the issue I had as a supporter of Wests Tigers now...not the Q and A's which is a good initiative even though it's been done before..probably just the sequencing of the questions...

I will respectfully disagree.

Pretty sure the intention wasn't to conduct themselves in an utmost professional manner.

They want to communicate with the fans, down to earth and show some visibility. Educate the fans who range from 12-90 years old. Showing some humour and engagement.

I am certain that is not how he conducts himself in business meetings etc.

Regarding his obsession with Hawaii. I wouldn't say he is obsessed. Playing in Hawaii provides the club with great exposure, regardless of how many people attend the game. Their media will be onto it like ants. TV coverage will also give publicity in the US.

Will lead to membership sales, jersey sales etc. When one person wears the jersey, another follows.

I'd say it's a way to have camp in Hawaii and the nrl fund it, if not at least a tax ride off. Also if you throw in an all expense trip to Hawaii to a 20 year old, it's got to help with recruitment a little!!!

Pretty sure the stadium money is seperate. It's specifically a COE fund.

surprising news re the Magpies.

Maybe I missed something and I don't want people to think this is a Wests vis Balmain thing, but why would you not play all your teams under the one brand name?? Iam sure there is a very good reason, but on the surface it looks to be a little divisive.

Then say that and stop pretending its about creating a global brand.

It reeks of John Ribot's silly comments during the super league war.

Good on the club for doing these. Nice to hear that they are on top of all the things we tend to worry about.

Also great to see a bit of personality from Cleary and Pascoe.

x2

Its meant to show the human side of them….and they achieved that.

Milky you have never been the US have you? Your post suggests you have no idea how sports broadcasting works in the US. The game, if it does get televised, will be on a cable sports channel thats so long down the list that the only people watching it will be stoner college kids for giggles whilst they are high.

You cant penetrate the US sports market by a one off game in Hawaii. Delusional to think you can.

The return from such an investment would be so small and if that is the reason I start to wonder if someone in Pascoe's family would be getting kickback from it. Does he have a great aunt living in Hawaii?

Not going to win a lot of supporters if you go to Hawaii play St George (for example in the current match up) and get your butt whooped. We would want to make sure our team is competitive against the chosen opposition.
