Coach Benji 👑

I think there's too much butthurt tonight and not enough calm thinking, but it is painful to have Benji start to turn a corner, then it all falls apart midseason, same as every other season.

I don't have the answer but lots of coaches have achieved the same fate at Benji 2026.
No argument from me in regards to that but as always we have the same people in the back pulling the levers and making the poor decisions and completely untouchable.I certainly don't blame Benji for all of it especially the areas he has zero influence in (board level)

Rubbish. We got flogged to a side that had only won 1 game all season with our season on the line. Besides selections being shocking, they were flat from the get go. If St George didnt drop it 17 times, would of been a 50 point loss. This loss is rock bottom.

well he has stuffed Latus career and stuck with jock, onya Benji
This is what’s sending me insane.. Javon Andrews is 100 times more creative than jock and we cannot make a gotdamn break but we continue to pick madden and no centres and middles at second row on the wrong side,, get Latu and Andrews in .. help us score some freaking points for gods sake

exactly!! why do people like you and I see it and yet nothing happens, its so frustrating

Benji is the Laurie Daley of coaches. While we should be eternally grateful that he delivered this pathetic club a premiership as a player, he is tarnishing his legacy by continuing as a coach. He turns crap players into pathetic ones. He has no game plans and cannot motivate his players, relying instead on individual brilliance from his playmakers.

The nicest thing I can say about Benji is he's not the worst coach in our history - that accoldarde goes to Terry Lamb. But if he sees out his contract, he could eclipse Lamb.
Benji is the only hope we have as he is the only thing keeping the place together,,, he just needs some help with the attack and needs to stop rewarding players out of form.. players do seem to want to play for him,, but he needs someone to do the bench and we need better attack ,,, we have no idea,, AD to right centre … and Javon Andrews and Latu in the halves… we are so close to being good but our bad players. Kill us/…looking at you jock tonight,,,, this arm grabbing he is doing is pathetic jock and if he could improve his defence he would be a decent back up 7 .. aback up only

Correction...2 games all season

I doubt his ego would allow him to.
I can’t remember where I saw the interview, but I believe the discussion went to one of our halves being injured and Benji said he was ready to strap on his boots and fill in. He said he believed he was still fully capable but that his partner made him pull his head in. The scary thing is I think he was genuinely serious.

Our coaching set up is amateurish and that’s all on Benji.

Heighington who’s never coached at any other club, Johnny Cronk and Hodgson who’s a complete failure as a coach.

Plus we’ve got McCarthy as head coach of cup who’s another one of Benji’s former teammates at the Dragons.

There’s no excuse for such a deplorable set up. All nepotism and zero talent.

The way he’s run around with them at training, I have no doubt he would be serious.
