I think we were thrust into an evolutionary change when Tim Sheens was sacked the first time because the team was heading for 9th. A new species of dinosaur started ruling. We haven’t been able to reach the lofty heights of 9th since pre COVID19.

it’s mostly on the players now to try and find a couple of wins to close out the season and salvage a bit of pride and reasons for optimism …

I agree its on the players, but a bunch of players operating independently or without trust is just a rabble. The coaching staff need to remind players of their earlier cohesion and rebuild trust or I dont think things will improve. As a side note, I wonder how much of this is down to Luau.

Yes, ok. I have no doubt that Luai, Douihe, TM, Bula, Turuva, Twal, most of the first 17 have plenty of individual self belief and pride, but if they dont believe in and trust each other and play as a team, they wont get far.

I really like benjis approach and still have faith but this Luai situation really hurts. We started the year well and we just had to keep the momentum going that we established with Richo. Fake it till you make it!

Unfortunately we have been exposed as the frauds we are and the so called culture change has been an absolute fizzle.

First Sheens and now Richo. Both old heads brought in to help guide and protect Marshal only to be thrown out too early. I’m not saying that they weren’t without faults but without support Benji is fighting an impossible battle. Dark times as a fan but it’s safe to say we’ve never known any different.

Not that I’ve seen recently by some of those … certainly not in comparison to the start of the season….
Yes .. tbey need the coaches to be better too … god knows I’ve been critical enough of them .. just want the players to own a bit of this too ..ultimately it’s on them

You should read your post mate. We are talking about WestsTigers most successful coach and you want to judge his WTs career on a handful of games where he had limited success.
Sounds and smells like bias to me.
Everyone knows the coaching job at WT throws up more challenges than it should and likewise anyone who starts a new job goes in with 100% positive attitude that they will deliver some level of success.
Don’t let me stand in your way, keep on cheering for the people who put lead in his saddle bags. 😉

AD not finding touch from that penalty and then conceding the quick try.. Bunty having a brain explosion , getting binned and by the time he is back on its down 14-0 and a big mountain to climb for these blokes …

They need to examine the pre game routine and find out why they start the majority of games so passively ..

Benji is friends with Foran.
Might be worth a discussion, how to get the best out of the squad.

He's also very close with Shaun Johnson, might be worth a day a week, chatting to the spine.

Not sure who else he's friends with, he can call in some favours from. Maybe Wayne and Farah?

If Morris, Heino and Hodgo aren't good enough.
They should go.
Just no point if we're replacing em with Patrick Herbert and Tim Moltzen.
