Coach Benji 👑

Doubt it. They are all bros.
This is the great culture we kept being told about.
Ask the warriors about it.
Foundations built like a house of cards.
we need a coach who is not one of the bros. webster is a perfect example as is Cleary. Both teams full of islanders. islanders have never made good coaches.

benji needs an ultimatum to have some coaching help that isn’t one of his yes men boys. He needs an experienced assistant that will push him. It’s been this way from day one with Benji but they gave him the keys no questions asked on who he wanted. Worst coaching staff in the nrl.
Could the best coaching staff in the NRL make our current team line up win games?

Both the wingers from tonight need to be dropped to koe cup for the rest of the season,TOA was playing on half a leg for nearly 80% of the game.

Our biggest challenge is strengthening the squad how we go next year won’t be coaching related. If we don’t add 3-4 top 17 players and more depth we won’t do anything. Upgrading players and getting growth from young players is fine but we are way behind.

They have to stick to the process and be smart with recruitment. Also need to look at the training and rehab.
Wouldn’t matter if you gave Benji the origin squad, they would still loose in the NRL. He is just not a coach. Was a very good player but can’t coach. He should do the right thing by tho club that has looked after him and resign He would. e greatly respected. by all the supporters. Nothing wrong with having given it his best go but failing.

Watching Benji’s presser, it was the first time I have really seen him out of ideas and he looked despondent. He said they prepared really well and I think he expected a strong performance. Generally speaking coaches who don’t have ideas tend not to last long.

I love the guy to death. I really do. And he should have a job for life with the club in some form. It just can’t be doing what he’s doing because he doesn’t have it. At least not this point in time. I love my mother, but if the day ever comes and God forbid I get a brain tumour, I don’t want her to be the one to do the surgery. If he can’t be objective enough to jump, the club have to push him. Somethings going to give in the next 12 months. It has to.

Benji hasn't lost the shed.
Can he coach,? Said to a mate 10 years ago, which he thought was crap, is that the main Coach tag is just a figurehead that deflects the negative and talks down the praise . They have dieticians to teach eating habits ,,2 days a week are probably wasted on public misbehavior (those days are basically gone}.
The team needs a guy to believe in ,while his assistants drill home the tough love - simples

Atm i cant say Benji needs to go. My reason is i saw enough in the first 10 weeks that suggest he can get the team heading in the right direction. Also i cant guage whether the current slump of form is because of Luais departure or some kind of a fracture in the squad, or if which i think might be more likely, the injuries weve had made us over play guys whos bodys are just now burnt out. Either case it is a coaching issue. The last 2 seasons Benji really hasnt had any clear air to just do his job. Last year it was Galvin, this year Luai coupled with horrendous injuries. For me ill give him another season, if theres no improvement and a similar injury toll, hes gone. I just think with everything going on around him and all the spot fires hes got to put out at the joint he cant just coach. It would be hard enough for an experienced coach let alone one who isnt. Definatly be getting in experienced assistants next year though to help him.

This Benji coaching experiment has gone on long enough. He's been given enough chances to get us winning and failed . When does he take some accountability?
I thought that's what he does - always takes the blame for a loss. But the question is why are we losing, and if it has anything to do with Benji or his assistant coaches then that needs to be examined.
What's going on at the Wests Tigers.

It can't be denied that the coaching isn't working. The coaches aren't getting them up for games.

They haven't got an attacking structure.
They can't score. Only 4 tries in the last 4 games.

Can't defend either. Struggle to keep the opposition score under 30.

Luai just isn't inspiring the side and really Doueihi isn't either. Dies with the ball too much.

Both centres and wingers are off the pace. Turuva hasn't scored since round 6. Makasini and To'a look injured.

Terrell May has gone off the boil. Twal keeps trying but isn't in his early season form.

Even Bula looks uninterested.
Yes I agree with all you say. At the very least Benji needs help from experienced coaches/mentors, that may help- if Benji is willing to accept that option

Could we possibly be seeing a mass exodus of players soon?

Is Luai recruiting internally for the PNG team? Because there's absolutely no effort from any of them currently.

Denan Kemp mentioned that it could be one of the primary reasons he was let go early.

How we go next year won’t be coaching related? Have you been watching or Are you just drunk?

our attack has been ordinary most of the year, no matter who’s out there.
More often than not coming down to individual efforts rather than the team.

The coach has had a good run with the media because of who they are, it won’t last forever - he’ll only be able to speak to them like he has the upper hand for so long, then he’ll know pressure.

I see nothing in this side that says we’ll be a better team next year, we’ve given up one of our better players in a good defending half. If anything, I see us going backward.

Benji is still developing like any new coach. He’s had good and bad moments. The last two seasons have been railroaded and fallen away after positive starts.

Players wanting out after the Luai saga is just ridiculous. Many signed extensions as soon as the PNG deal was done. The seasons over, injuries have hurt and internal drama have yet again affected the on field results. Work is needed but blowing up the coaching and playing roster is not required.

Next year will be his 5th year and this has been the best ‘roster’ we’ve had in 15.

People need to separate fandom from reality.
