Not even coaches who have won the comp in their first one or two seasons have received 5 year extensions. Marshall has gotten one off 15 wins in 48 games 😅
It's up there with Anthony Siebolds contract at the Broncos

We have seen time and time again coaching contracts mean Jack in modern times it's a pure PR move to try and smooth things over the players and fans if you're naive enough to believe it.Not even coaches who have won the comp in their first one or two seasons have received 5 year extensions. Nothing seenAnyone else seeing a presser?
I see nothing but a teaser
I wonder if HBG are smart enough to have performance KPI clauses in the contract to minimise any payout?Good call.
If he continues to languish, he'll get correctly dumped with a pay out anyway. That pay out will come out of HBG's coffers, so who cares.
But what it does do, is provide immediate stability in a key area. It'll allow the playing group to feel some sort of security in their coach moving forward, which is probably more important than the machinations of the HBG or WT Board setup to the playing group anyway. Will certainly assist with looming re-signings considering what's gone on.
The question I ask for the critics of this decision (and I know there are big, legitimate concerns as well), is how would the key members of the playing group respond to a Benji extension?
From a squad stability perspective, given what's transpired in the past couple of weeks, it will stabilise exit talk from key members of the squad.
I, personally, can't stomach another ground-up rebuild.
It’s an olive branch, except they have taken it to the extreme.WOW! Just WOW!
How does this happen with a CEO just a few days into an interim role, and without a board?
HBG already putting this club under the pump a week or so after resuming control.
Is this not proof enough these morons need to go?
I would of just taken Benji and the playing group out for coffee personally...It’s an olive branch, except they have taken it to the extreme.
I think the payout will come out of Wests Tigers coffers NOT HBG’s.Good call.

All this deal has done is ensure Benji is financially safe for the next 5 years, irrespective of results.Understand the theory behind it, but I think more progress needed to be shown on the field in 2026 before the extension. What happens if we go 0/8 to start next year?
Haha, yes.I think the payout will come out of Wests Tigers coffers NOT HBG’s.
Do you have a link?Love Benji’s honesty. HBG would be unhappy with some of his answers.
