He's such a champion of a bloke. Loved the jnterview.

I wonder if all the chat about how weird it is to play against Nathan is partially the truth, but partially laying the groundwork to recruit him.

They have an interview on nrl.com too that's supposed to drop soon.

Just his raw honesty is so refreshing. Sure, he is measured, but he is real. Players would love him. He has that rare gene that all great leaders possess - respectful honesty: the ability to tell someone the absolute truth, even if it’s tough, but have that person walk away still feeling valued and respected. A rare quality indeed. We keep this bloke for 5 years, we win a comp.

He clearly does not like coaching against his son, and I gather neither does his wife. Thought he wouldnt have to this year with Nathan's injury.

Yeah I can't believe Nathan had to make his long awaited return against us! :unamused:

Good interview. Cleary is clearly a class act. There were good questions and Ivan answered them honestly with a dash of humour. I enjoyed the calm correction he made about the home ground issue. No, he was not upset and he respected the board's decisions about taking home venues to other locations. However, he did think that a real home ground was a necessary prerequisite for long term success. It was also gratifying to hear that he was a Balmain Tigers fan in his formative years….

This is the man that is going to bring great success to our club …you can only respect a man that does not hide away from what needs to be done on and off the field. As he said last night your either on the BUS or your not this encapsulates the new found direction our club is heading on and off the field ..proud to be a Weststigers supporter :sign:

He said some really encouraging words about look brooks…shows up everyday ready to go....certainly different to how he was perceived previously

With Ivan in his chair I feel much more confident that our club will behave in a way I can be proud of.
Yes, I want to win another premiership but the thing I would take over a premiership is being proud of our behaviour on and off the field. I hope we respect our players especially our long term players. Equally I hope we will respect players by telling them the truth early. This could be from a 1:1 with Ivan or him having the guts (and complete support) to drop players that are not performing.
Go Ivan!!

It was obvious to me last night listening to him that we could not have got a better person to be our coach. He was both humble and inspiring which is hard to do.
Our future as a club has never looked brighter as long as he has no interference at board level.

He's just such a laid back character, you can tell by the way he's sitting. It is true that we are in good hands. Very reminding of when Shifty took over but probably in better shape.
Onwards and upwards for us I believe.
