Coach JT interview. BSB Link - 11Aug 2015

About the cap, you have to remember that we have released at least 2 players since the article (keefy + martin) which could have cleared up enough so we weren't restricted in 2017.

Plus, we don't know if players have helped out with some small wage haircuts since then. e.g. Maybe if payments for Brooks/Moses/Ted were shifted to the current year, they might have agreed to 2% less due to interest or something like that.

JT praises his players for their efforts,he could always bag them in the media, however he stays positive and he especially praises great efforts from players that put in under difficult circumstances..Kev playing while being in a lot of pain and giving his best comes to mind…

Maybe if some of us as supporters have the same positivity,we may not need the Valium so much... 😱pen_mouth:

I'd hate to be your dog TT

I reckon he cops a real pizzling at home because I can't believe how positive you always are. You must have an avenue to release your stress and I'm guessing you take it out on ol' yella.

You're starting to make me feel bad about some of my thoughts and posts. Good one.

My pleasure cq,I've learnt that life's to short to live on negativity alone….it's so much more enjoyable if you see both sides of everything...cheers mate...ps my dog loves me and I try not to be cruel to animals....humans are so much crueler to each other...

The spin is all starting to come unstuck isn't it.

It was a good interview. I think Taylor is improving.

I always judge someone on how they handle pressure this interview was done after 2 wins so a realitively calm response .this has not been the case earlier .. I am still unconvinced Talyor is the right person.

I think anyone in their right mind has to have massive concerns with Taylor. He came in and botched it. The question is has he figured it out and will he improve or will he revert back to what he did when he firstly came here.

I think it's still spin, it's all spin, it's all deception. How do you know when he's really telling the truth or not?

Or are you just happy to cop this particular spin because we've had two wins?

I think the reality of the situation is now starting to come out and it was always going too. We've signed some players. The comments regarding the salary cap and all the rest of it were simply to screw over the previous administration and coaches and lay the blame at someone other than JT and the current administration.

I think the real test though of where we are at is how we go next year. I doubt they will get away with excuses.

The club made a huge song and dance about not being able to sign anyone for another 2 or 3 years. Went crying to the papers trying to buy some sympathy for coming dead last and looking down the barrel of our first ever wooden spoon.

Listening to Taylor here it appears this was another piece of spin fed to us by the club and coach.

He tries to say they really meant no marque signings pfttt. The story now is that at the back of next year we might be in a position to make some big name signings and in the meantime we are looking at adding a few players who given a chance can push for first grade.

Lost track of the number of times Taylor or the club has had to come out and correct a previous statement.

Give it a break - since the no signings full stop announcement WT have been able to move a few contracted players on for next year which frees up some money for fringe FGs.

Harsh but fair.

At this stage i back him to turn it around. I like some of the directions he is taking.

That said i expect a big finish to the year and next year there are no excuses at all. Perform or hit the road.

Give what a break?

They say one thing then a few weeks later a different story comes out once they rack up a couple of wins and the pressure is off.

As for moving on unwanted players well that was always going to happen. Plain and simple they fed us the story to divert the attention away from the coach and board given the crap position the club found itself in.

If you dont agree with that fine, each to their own.

Are you serious really ??

We were always going to change our direction at some stage

If you guys couldn't see that it says more about you both than Taylor

Dont try and worm out of this with the ohh he was always going to change things up rubbish. Just man up and admit he is learning like every human being. He is no god he is human and he makes mistakes.

As for turning it on me and trying to say im the problem well those in glass houses.

I still remember after the Cowboys game you still hadnt clicked that the mid field bomb was a Jason Taylor tactic. You were arguing the point and saying things like "if" he is instructing them and what not.

I also lost track of the number of times you tried to paint this squad as inept and totally lacking any class.

If you werent so stubborn you would have adjusted your thinking by now. Steve and I have, we are both willing to give the guy a go.

Have a read of what we are posting and you might see we are on the same side.

How many times did I say "Don't worry the attack is still there " ??

How many times pre season started did I say we were a bottom 4 side personnel wise ??

I brought up the mid field bomb in the form as want I wouldn't want to see as a fullback , something I know a little about

This has got nothing to do with being stubborn at all , I had left this alone for an age

Just remember who called someone delirious TITG

The mid-field bomb is a Taylor tactic….that'll do me...don't tell the other 15 NRL clubs...

Funnily enough if you re watch game 2 and 3 of SOO you will see that Qld employed it

I said…shhhhhhhhhhhhhhsh

I don't really care what the club had said earlier, but thank god we can add to our current squad. Things are looking a bit rosie.

Ok smart guys, let me rephrase.

Happy didnt even know that the 5 very simple hit ups followed by a bomb directed to the middle of the field on each and every set was a tactic Taylor was employing.

Even after the Cowboys he was still saying "if" this is a deliberate tactic. The guy who has been Taylors biggest and most vocal supporter needed it pointed out to him that this plod and bomb tactic was going on.

Its all here on the forum for those who wish to search.

My take on JT's interview is you can feel the pressure valve has been released a little after two wins. Also I think the club felt a real backlash when they came out and painted a dark picture of our salary cap and where the club was at and how long it will be before they can get things right, along with a team that was playing busted. So I think the word is out to talk positive and cut out the negative stuff and try build up interest for next season.

I think they are now on the right track

Be easier to have more positivity, if the club and Coach could get their stories straight when they make their big announcements about things involving salary caps and recruitment. When they say that the future is bleak and no signings for years. Then come out like magic and say, that's not what we meant, they look like ( at worst) Liars, and ( at best) fools.
Their previous announcements weren't the figment of some hack reporter, it came from the Head Coach, and Marina Go.was it just another distraction.
I'd expect more accuracy from the board. If they can't tell us the truth, then don't say anything.

Goldcoasttiger, maybe what they thought was right was no where near right, the new board and coach had an absolute rubbish dump to sort through and their judgement may have been a little out,so what many big businesses have had to re align what they first thought…
But go on and try to turn every little shred of positivity into a humungus negative....it's easy when your not involved or your money, but anyway thanks for your input.....
