Coaching Saga- Apparently Walters back in the frame

For the back half of last week it seemed a given that Mick Potter was going to be appointed sometime this week.

Did anyone notice on the weekend that Kevie was being mentioned as the potential coach again in a few articles over the weekend, including the one about Lote.

Im going to pose a few interpretations on this with absolutely no fact….perhaps this means that Potter may not be agreeing to terms or alike or the media jumped the gun last week, or the most likely the media is hedging their bets in the articels over the weekend.

Personally Im really hoping for Mick Potter, he has been my personal choice from the get go, so would be happy with him. I could live with Walters, but would rather someone with some success as a head coach.

It appears as an outsider that it remains a two horse race - Walters or Potter.

It's fair to say that Walters has a good chance.

I only saw two articles about WTs over the weekend, Sheens spitting it over Rumours benjis the boss….and sack benji from that mickey mouse koori game for reynolds.

Care to share these articles?

jUST A QUESTION GOOSE, in your opinion you say Mick Potter has been yourt rlect from day one ,why ? what does Potter bring to Wests ? what are his credentials and why will he make a good NRL COACH .im not having a go , just interested in what people think he can do ,because to me his credentials are very limited.

The reason for uncertainty is because WT officials have absolutely no idea who they will go for. This is because they have no idea how much money they will have to spend. This is because they can't get sheens to settle his contract.

Tigers demolish leagues club before new one is approved.
WT sack sheens without a settlement or money to pay him out.
Why do we act, now think later. God this is tragic
Bring back noyce , humpty should be first one gone

What has the boss of the Wests Tigers got to do with Balmain Leagues Club redevelopment - drawing a long bow there!

Board meeting is Tuesday night (I think). So I would expect they would like to get some media coverage for their sponsors. So I would expect a press conference Wed lunch time to announce "Harry" Potter is the new man or maybe Kevie or another coach from left field

I read an article by Dean Ritchie (think it was around Oct 10 or 11, but there's been so many it's hard to remember them all) & he said the sub-committee was due to make it's recommendation's at a board meeting this Thursday night but typically the papers hedged their bet's & said some board members wanted it earlier. Personally it seems to be dragging on forever & i know there's a due process that has to be followed & you don't rush such an important decision. But to a novice like me i would think it would go something like this. (1) sub-committee draws up a list of potential candidates (2) contacts these people/their manager's to ascertain if they are interested in the job (3) Interviews these interested individuals (4) at the conclusion of these interviews, the sub-committee decides who they believe is the best person & is prepared to make it's recommendations to the board. (5) organise a board meeting asap after step (4) to make it's recommendation's (6) board makes the final decision based on the sub-committee's recommendation. The Warrior's took longer to make their decision but i think you can put that down to the fact, that their first preference was to snare Bellamy & was waiting for him to make up his mind & then once he'd knocked them back they went with plan b but with us it appeared from the outside looking in that it was a three horse race until Parrish pulled out & then it was down to Potter or Walters. Very disappointing season in more ways than one.

His brother Harry couldn't make the trip to oz as contractually he's tied up at Hogwarts' Kridditch team. When questioned he was not available however Hagred was not denying he has been speaking to recruitment officers hself about filling the gap in the front row left by fellow Englishman Gareth Ellis. No quotes. But all true.

**Potter to coach Wests Tigers: report**

The Wests Tigers are reportedly set to announce Mick Potter as their new coach.

News Limited is reporting the appointment could be made as early as Thursday after Potter edged ahead of rival candidates Kevin Walters and Matt Parish.

The former Dragons and Bulldogs fullback has enjoyed a six-year coaching stint in the English Super League and was named coach of the year during his time with Bradford.

Tigers boss Stephen Humphreys said he had sought advice from senior Tigers players as part of their search for Tim Sheens’s replacement.

"I've had some discussion with senior players," he told The Daily Telegraph.

"Not so much around, you know, should we pick candidate X or Y? More around style and what is needed right now at our place."

Humphreys also confirmed Sheens could still be with the club next season as the stalemate over the former coach’s payout continues.

"**Either he remains in a new role or it will be separation, it will be one of the two**," Humphreys said.
"We've said we will give him all the time he needs to think about that."

as Judge Judy would say - all hearsay.

Guilty on all counts AHX, but the club hasn't given us any info when this decision is likely to be made. I think it was Happy that summed it up best, we can't rule anything in or out.

''we cant rule anything in or out" - thank you Einstein - It had me stumped. Back to summer. Thanks Happy for helping this young lad out.

Brilliant supercoach - 'Harry' could be our man.
I know one thing for sure - if we do win the premiership in 2013 - then surely they'll be calling him Harry from the stands.
