Coaching

Sheens is probably going to finish up next year with maybe 12 wins out of 46, and probably 2-3 wooden spoons in his 3 years here.

He will walk out saying " it was a tough re build and we are proud of what we achieved here"... For once I want a coach or an admin to stop blaming previous appointments and just say " look I just didn't do my job right, we weren't as good as other teams" be honest and stop with the whole re build BS

In fairness the club was not in great shape when he got here.

In reality will judge him over the next 3 years if they stick to the plan.

Acknowledge he did need big help with recruitment which was not looking good before fulton. Again tho, is that more a club fault

We’ve improved, it may be overlooked due to the sheer disappointment of another failed campaign but for those that love them, statistically we have been better and aside from the stats we actually are competing, remaining in the contest for the first time since probably 2019 with our youngest side since 2015.

Some stats have improved. Many haven’t. We are competing at times but can’t sustain it enough to win.
Fact is, we may finish the year 3 & 21 and possibly with a differential of around -300.
That’s a shameful disaster anyway you spin it.

What shape was it in when Madge took over with Cleary’s lead weights drowning our cap

How poor is it.

Toa to 5/8.

Signing the slowest player in the NRL as back up half, while we could have signed Clune, Crossland or Volkman in that role.

Naden left centre played on the right. AJ right centre played on the left letting 3 tries in. Why on earth do you play them on the opposite side to which both are most comfortable? It kills me.

Bateman a loose cannon at lock. Can not play in the middle. To unpredictable.

Seyfath and Twal on at the same time for long periods.

Replacing our semi experienced hooker when we were on a roll and had control.

I was savage when we singed Wakeham, but I gave in when our forwards, combined with Brooks carried him to the point I though ok, maybe he is better then I thought. But no, he is not better, he is worse.

Brooks haters take note, we are done without him.

Bula is playing 1 and 6, and sometimes 7. How embarrassing is that for the other players.
Aged well,

Done 'with' him.

Every team and every club improves, it's just how evolution goes but I want Sheens to just admit that my tenure was a failure.

Stop blaming the people who've left like Madge and Hartigan and all, take responsibility for your failures. No one out of Pascoe, Lee, Madge, Sheens, Taylor, Cleary etc will admit they failed, they'll all just blame each other.

Just want someone to go in record and say I didn't do my job properly.

No one will, ever say it was me , I feel Sheens should move on and let Benji select his assistants
i think Furner has done ok
Robbie as well
just needs one more guy like Cronk or similar who has a great game mind

In fairness to Sheens, the Doueihi injury really made it hard for him. He had so much attacking structure planned, all revolving around Adam. We might not ever know where he could've lead this team, if the season was not plagued by injury to our star player.

love hearing cronk talk, so smart with the ball, would love him as a assistant coach

Is the “ Douehi injury” still getting a run at the after match presser?

Nice comment…

When it comes to Brooks, They are done “with‘ him and they are done “without him”..

Im not palming the blame of the teams performance onto him, but to suggest that his presence makes a whatever the opposite of “done“ is (winners , a chance to make the 8??) has not proven to the case over the past two seasons …

Cleary left the club a complete mess. Madge was turning it around. Sheens send us backwards again. It'll be interesting how things go over the next couple of years but I'll always think Madge was the guy that started the rebuild. If it works and we do well in the next couple of years Sheens will deserve a lot of credit though.

The thing is, they probably aren’t in denial about the job they are doing. Sheens is that egocentric that he would believe that he did a good job walking away with two wooden spoons. He basically sacrificed himself for the future of the club.
