Notice David Gower resigned with Eels--always thought he had a dud deal from Tim Sheens as he would have been at his prime over the following years. I think he was NSW player of the year when he was still young . Could name many forwards signed since who were poor value.

I understand I'm looking at all of this in hindsight, but the vision is extremely telling, especially with people coming on to this forum and explaining that Matterson wasn't liked by the playing group and he wasn't what everyone thought he was.

Was a pass that probably didnt need to happen but Taylor shouldve caught that one in my opinion and I thought the reaction wasn't that bad from Matterson either. M Moses on the other hand would have called him every name under the sun.

I'll respond the same way I did last time I saw this vision. There's every chance he could be annoyed at himself. Nobody likes him now, but without knowing what was said, it's hard to convict Matterson of being wanker here.

Exactly! He just threw his arms in the air and reacted like any of us would if the play broke down like that. Many players have done the same over the years, it certainly wasn’t anything to write home about. We all know he is a wanker now, but that reaction wouldn’t have made me think anything bad about him at the time.

Matterson was our best player in 2019 and that’s the end of it. Great player. Huge loss. Bit of a douchebag.
