You went to the trouble of digging out an old post to say "I told you so?".Wow.

I did it in the context of suggesting that we as a fan base have a tendency to sugar coat things a little. Not trying to say 'I told you so', just wanting fans to be less blithe in our thinking, only because I think long term sustainable support of the team relies on realistic expectations about our competence. It was very easy to find earlier post, I don't post all that much. It is a little self-indulgent, sorry.

May I ask how you know this stuff? Do you work at the club or know someone there?

I know people who know Madge and yes while that sounds cryptic, I know he's very confident about the plans he has in place for the club - it's a different feeling at the club and one we should be optimistic about. I know that sounds cliche, but the professionalism there has improved noticeably and is a direct reason why we hear don't hear as many rumours these days. They keep their cards close to their chest, as well they should. Just be patient, the plans they have in place are all designed around making the WT a powerhouse club and its starting to come to fruition.

Parramatta have started their week with five key re-signings and hope to add Ryan Matterson by the end of it as the ex-Wests Tigers back-rower weighs up a three-year offer. For Matterson, a return to his junior club could be finalised by the end of this week after Parramatta tabled a three-year deal believed to be worth around $1.5 million.

While a slew of clubs including the Dragons, Titans and Rabbitohs have registered their interest in the 25-year-old, negotiations have advanced with Parramatta far further than any other outfit.

Matterson and Eels coach Brad Arthur broke bread two weeks ago and have resolved the issues that surfaced briefly when the Parramatta junior first left the club in 2016 when he was unhappy with Arthur's plans to push him from the halves into the forwards.
