None of us know what happened. Let it run it's course without the expert commentary. There's possibly a stack of footage out there and real life info yet to be released.

There will need to be other footage if it is to show anything other than him charging back into the crowd outside, having already been headed away from there. The hitting of his teammate incident that apparently occurred inside the premises is little to no defence to anything that happened outside afterwards, particularly if he himself was not hit.

Either way, and especially so with security personnel in attendance, his response did not seem proportionate to the situation based on the video linked in this thread. My opinion would be the same if it was a WT, say Mikaele doing similar.

Melbourne Storm star Nelson Asofa-Solomona faces questioning by the NRL integrity unit and his club after allegedly throwing a volley of brutal punches in a Bali street fight. Asofa-Solomona, who stands 200cm tall and weighs 115kg, was seen in a viral video outside the popular La Favela nightclub in Seminyak, allegedly throwing haymakers amid a huge brawl.

However, Nine News correspondent Renae Henry has spoken with the nightclub owner, Gonzalo Assiego, who revealed that the trouble began inside the club when one of Asofa-Solomona's teammates was attacked by another patron. The teammate, identified by Nine's Danny Weidler as winger Suliasi Vunivalu, suffered a cut under his eye after being punched in the face; an unprovoked 'king hit'. Assiego released CCTV footage exclusively to Nine News, showing the initial assault.

Assiego said that once the matter went outside, Vunivalu's attacker and a group of friends - including one armed with a bottle - approached the Storm players. That was when Asofa-Solomona allegedly reacted violently and was captured in the viral footage.

"It's so bad, because (the public) don't see the reality of what happened before," Assiego told Henry for Nine News."His reaction was aggressive for sure, but we don't know what happened ... and I explained what happened before. I feel sorry for him."

You can see the way this is going, sweep sweep sweep and cover up and Turdberg will do nothing because NAS plays for one of the "untouchable" 4 clubs.

Can you put your bias' aside for just one minute. His teammate was king hit and he had at least 4 people coming at him. What is there to sweep under the rug?

Aledged king hit.

Confirmed by the manager of the club.

Wait...Maybe he was paid off by Todd

I have a naturally suspicious mind when it comes to these type of incidents.

Clearly, when its a player of a team you don't like.

My first thought was, why do first grade players earning hundreds of thousands a year go to Bali for holidays?

That would have to be on the bottom of the list of places a young, cashed up professional athlete should be traveling to.

So young single adventurous people don’t like Bali if they are rich??????????

I think you know what Abraham is inferring to - choose a better place - why go to a place when you know trouble is just around the corner... find somewhere else that's classy or where there is not a reputation for trouble

It’s not the place that throws the punches! I’ve taken my family to Bali and we had a great time! It’s a great place. You can get yourself in trouble anywhere if you allow it to happen. My question would be why did Vunivalu get belted in the first place?

I was starting to think NAS must have been swinging at Matterson.

@Tiger_Steve You can get glassed by a drunk bogan without going on holidays.

Only place that's going to happen overseas is Bali or Thailand.

Plenty of Bintang singlets up my way, so they could come up to the Central Coast and just pretend they are over there.

Having never been to Bali, I cannot really comment, but from what I have been told, there is not much left of that which originally attracted tourists there and become one big bar.

I'm sorry @TheDaBoss, boxing should be banned :skull_and_crossbones: .

Two blokes going at each other with the intention of knocking the other one out, or at least hurting the other so much they can't defend themselves.

That's not a sport, it's just stupidity.

So you are saying the only place on the planet where you can get glassed is Bali or Thailand? Not New York or Port Moresby or London or Belfast or Cape Town. Not Nigeria or Riyadh? Really?

they're footy players. let's be honest there's not much upstairs so bali; thailand or the US are the only 3 places they would think of going. Don't give them too much credit here fellas....

LOL so true...good luck asking a footy player where Riyadh is... LOL

@formerguest Bali is beautiful and much bigger than you'd think. All we hear about is Kuta and Seminyak, which are very touristy and make up 5% of the island. Do yourself a favour and go there, travel an hour north or south; it's a tropical paradise. Thailand on the other hand has been ruined by tourism.
