Confirmed: Matterson released from Wests Tigers.

@cochise we can never ever give up on playing games at Leichhardt or Campbelltown .It is where this club started as Wests Tigers as we are today , i think it’s great for local business and the junior teams within the districts and both grounds are great for viewing .Keep 3 local games at these grounds for mine.

With Centre of Excellence at Concord. I think for long term prosperity we need to make ANZ refurbished our home ground and grow to exceed 25k average per game.

Maybe 1 game each at leichardt and campbellown for heritage round or something


Especially if the revamped ANZ is a good as Bank West or Suncorp from a spectator point.

It won't be - they can't do that with what they have.

If they knock it down, they can rebuilt it any way they want.

They are renovating ANZ - they are not going to pull it down. To rebuild would cost too much moolah and so, as usual the State Government have pulled out of that.

The lower bowls will be closer, but the upper levels are staying where they are and will still be a cavernous stadium!

I heard they’ve ordered drapes to pull across. Todd just has to choose the colours. He’s think of upgrading though to timber venetians!

Don't people realise it's simply not possible for us to trade Matterson for capewell? Capewell is uncontracted. No one can trade him and anyone can sign him immediately.

He would be a massive downgrade on Matto and would never be signed as his replacement imo. As has been said he would more likely replace Lawrence MCK or Garner in our squad.

Agreed, to give an origin quality backrower up, we really need to have someone of a similar standard, OR, a really young and upcoming player.

The more and more I think about this the chances of getting a like for like swap (ie backrower for backrower ) unless there is player in the same situation as Matterson ......

So we need to look at our next basic requirements that need immediate attention .....which is probably prop and hooker , possibly fullback but I can live with Thompson with Mbye in the centres

I hope another player comes out and makes comment about him. How are we not "the right club" for him when Madge got him into career best form? He was 18th man for the Blues, was unlucky not to play one of the first two origin games. His numbers were off the charts. Of course, most of it is down to him to produce that, but still, if we weren't the right club, then there's no way he would be able to play like that.

In my opinion, it's an insult to his team mates to come out with a comment like that. He's basically saying "I can't achieve what I want because of my coach and team".
