Congrats to Benji, Dene and TNT. Bit surprised Dene made it actually given his form and injury.

Definitely, he set a goal to get back into the squad and to his credit he has.

I guess not being allowed to play for Tonga in the WC has been a blessing in disguise, if he did turn out for them he'd be unavailable to the Kiwis for the next couple of years.

Taniela and Benji will be in the 1st side come test time. Halatau probably won't especially with the injury. But well done to the 3 anyway.

Looking at that side I can't believe Steve Rapira hasn't been named. He has been awesome this year for the Cowboys, and definitely had more impact then his brother of late. Steve came onto the scene big time during the world cup, and I could only imagine the damage they would cause if both were running out for the Kiwi's.

How does Halatau continually make the Kiwi squad? Surely Fien & Luke can cover hooker, with Benji & Roberts in the halves.

Kinda agree, especially since he's currently injured, and wasn't playing all that well before his injury.

Congrats to them all though.

They have a strong squad. Lots of young talent there too.

Well spotted, has been a powerhouse for the Cowboys.

Bryson Goodwin & Eddie Pettybourne…

Aren't these blokes of aboriginal descent...???

Bryson is 'Lord' Ted Goodwin's kid, who comes from down wollongong way... unless I suppose if his mother is from NZ.

Please note all you Halatau knockers out there. Did Sheens pick this squad?

Bronx Played for the Maori team so I'm guessing there must be a kiwi background in the family. Pettybourne was born in NZ.

A back three of The Tank, The Beast and Locke would be very good

Locke might be a bit raw, they'd probably go for Perrett instead. That said, Inu got a call up after 1 NRL game.

I remember after the Maori game last year Bryson said how everyone always thought his old man was aboriginal but he is actually a Kiwi.

And Pettybourne was born in Christchurch not to sure on his background.

All in all i think they can definately get a good team out of the squad with some very deserving call ups. The future looks bright for the Kiwis too with kids like Locke, Foran and Waera-Heargraves who are all outstanding prospects.

Congratulations especially to Tuiaki. He was overlooked at the start of the year after having a quiet year last year. Since then he has really showed great determination to get back in the team. All his hard work looks like it has paid off.

They still need a specialist fullback. Locke is playing there this week so maybe he is the answer.
