Not a doubt ??
Just... Nofo stay on your wing, don't confuse centre for wing

Stay on his wing and watch the five eightcand centre run in side him with no one marking him .

I think the overall point is the twitter comment wasn't specifically about Nofo's defence against Souths, I don't think, it's his defensive reads over a career.

The thing that annoyed me yesterday was the return of the sideways Nofo. It's a very simple proposition for David - run straight and hard and he has a good game. Run sideways and jink, he has a bad game.

We needed the go-forward yesterday when Souths were swarming in defence, and Nofo decided to try and jink and step, which got him monstered every time. You can only dance about against a tired staggered line.

When he runs straight and hard, he's very effective, and I don't understand why he doesn't just do this 100% of hitups, because he's compact, strong and has a decent turn of speed, so he can hit the line pretty hard pretty quickly. Look at Addo-Carr, the guy is a flyweight and very skinny below the waist, but he uses his speed to power into hitups. Look at Laurie, probably lighter again than JAC but regularly pokes through the line because he's smart about where he aims himself, doesn't present a big body shape to tackle, and speeds into the contact.

I would say to Nofo - if you start going sideways you are dropped. Hard and straight, or you are playing for Magpies.

He ran for 187 metres yesterday but 87 of those were his intercept.

The blaming of his teammates on twitter was pretty low...

I missed that, what did he say?

Early in the game I think he received the ball, ran about 8m sideways and then threw a pass when Souths were up in out face. What the hell was that about?

No idea, I think he has a low footy IQ.

Really poor of Nofaluma to blame his teammates in public...

Has it occurred to him that EVERY player we have tried inside him has looked bad? That it is ONLY his side of the field that this has happened for 7 years? And that HE is the only common denominator?

This all comes back to the coach.
He hasn't created a sense of team unity or common purpose.
That's his most important job. You can't have a successful team without it.

what about him having the height to say that we defended well in the second half. possession swung our way and we scored a few tries, but Souths had already clocked off. every time they were in our red zone they still scored tries, most of them soft as. he's deluded. if Souths had the same amount of ball that they did in the first half it would've hit 50.

Right, but I mean the original tweet tagging Nofo wasn't just about yesterday I don't think, was about Nofo's general reputation. Nofo then proceeds to defend himself about yesterday, which wasn't entirely the point.

Sad Nofo feels he has to turn to Social media to defend himself

Good on him.
This is very candid and I like reading this stuff. Not every casual fan can understand what he is saying but It’s been an issue for quite some time how our A and B defenders return to the line. Sometimes they are too slow to get back. Sometimes they take a breather and push back on the wrong side of the field. It was pretty obvious to see that in the second half the team was more United in movements across the width of the defensive line.

Pretty sure someone ran past stef in the parra game to score a try because he was still flopping back to the defensive line. I like stef but just an example of poor commitment to the competition. Like Madge has said, Attitude needs to change.

Problem is Madge has been saying the attitude needs to change from the first day he got announced as our coach. 3 years on, the attitude hasn't changed.

For sure. I'm a fan of Madge, he's got passion for the joint that most of the players seemingly don't. Would much rather have a huge roster cleanout than show the coach the exit.

Man you’re boring to read sometimes

We couldn’t attract decent players before Madge got here and nothing has changed in that aspect ..

Then with the overpriced signings of Reynolds , Mbye and Packer which has taken 3 years to get over the club has gone into its shell and said they won’t be paying overs for players period ..

So by not paying overs for quality due to being burnt in the past we’re stuck with a mediocre squad for the foreseeable
Future ..

And it was Lee that pushed for extending Nofo .. no one else !

We couldn’t attract decent players before Madge got here and nothing has changed in that aspect ..

Then with the overpriced signings of Reynolds , Mbye and Packer which has taken 3 years to get over the club has gone into its shell and said they won’t be paying overs for players period ..

So by not paying overs for quality due to being burnt in the past we’re stuck with a mediocre squad for the seeable
Future ..

And it was Lee that pushed for extending Nofo .. no one else !

Cheers mate :+1:

I reckon his hands are tied by the pen pushing suits in Pascoe and Lee ..

Pascoe and Lee aren't doing the coaching.

Man you’re boring to read sometimes

Seriously.. what’s he supposed to do ?

Laurie is a rookie
Nofo had sucked forever
Jimmy is cooked
Doueihi can’t lock down a position
Maumalo is a newbie
Mbye is shit at wherever he plays
Brooks goes good if the pack aims up
Tamou is shit
Liddle is average
Twal is average
Garner is hit and miss
Lucy can play but can’t tackle
Joffa is hit and miss

Stefano is a rookie
Mikaele is dumb
Seyfarth is improving
Amone is a plodder
Blore is a rookie

Who would you keep from that list moving forward??

I’d only keep Laurie/ Brooks/ Stefano / Seyfarth/Doueihi and maybe Twal

The rest are either learning there trades or they’re just trash .

Without meaning to sound boring, with the exception of Mbye he's signed or extended everyone on that list. And whilst that group of players isn't going to shoot the lights out, they're a lot better than what they're displaying on the field week after week after week.
