The key factor is though, hypothetically if we were to sign Cronk, we still need to strengthen the forward pack or else he is also going to look ordinary. we need 1 more front rower alongside Woods and a stronger backrow.
We are also 750k better off next year when we aren't paying Robbie Farah. It can happen and still strengthen other areas.
@ said:I also really liked how Blair brought the Melbourne culture with him when he came from the Storm. Changed our team he did.
@ said:He'd be the biggest thing ever to happen to the club.

Wonder if he sees us as worth taking a risk?

I doubt it in terms of how he sees things
However if we could put together a package of captaincy, coaching and good $$$ you never know.

The Tigers board expects JT to remain coach for the year so let's him work through the preseason with the team.
After, 1 or 2 rounds, Cronk decides he's moving to Sydney and somehow he's talking to the Tigers. He's interested but not with JT as coach. He'd be happy with Cleary though.
At this point, Tigers reach out to Cleary and find out he's keen to join, especially if there's a possibility of coaching Cronk.
So now Cronk is interested but he's not announcing his intention to move to Sydney until JT is sacked and Cleary is signed.
Meanwhile, the Tigers pressure the "big 4" with a deadline so that they don't sign (reverse psychology) leaving room to move one or more on of the cash is needed.
Cronks timing allows for the most time possible for contract negotiations. He has nothing to lose and now clubs are scrambling to put their best offer together.

To be honest, I'm expecting that if he does sign in Sydney, it will be with another club and we'll persist with Broses & Co. That's the Tigers style.
