Cooper Williams boxing night/circus

Cooper beats his milk bottle with a 1st rd KO. Cooper threw some very nice punches but he has no defence at all. Hopefully he's wise enough to stick to cab drivers and have the odd punch and giggle bout. If he wants to go into boxing he needs some serious training.

SBW Botha is into the 9th or so round now.
SBW has been on top until recently but supposedly Botha has hurt him in the last round or so. As long as SBW stays upright he should win

Now that's interesting. SMH is saying the fight was actually scheduled for 12 rounds but finished after 10???
IF true it's just another example of how incredibly amateurish boxing unfortunately is these days.

Unanimous points win for SBW but another round and it sounds like he was gone.

Just going to the scores now.

SBW unanimous points decision. Scores don't seem to correspond to reality

97-91, 98-90, 97-91

SBW really had to cling on at the end. He may struggle to play Foundation Cup after that.

Oddly enough for a supposed title fight it only went for 10 rounds rather 12.

thats a big effort from SBW , YEAH BOTHA IS 44 but has been in the ring with some great fighters .proves SBW is a great athlete whatever he puts his mind into .

Here we go i watched the whole fight if sonny bill is a great althlete why did he hold on to Botha the whole fight? why is he fighting a 44 year old? why did the fight change from 12 rounds too 10 rounds after sonny bills legs were wobbly at the end of the 9th? it was scheduled for 12 rounds and sonny would never had made it it was rigged bigtime

if u watched the fight you would know what im talking about it just isnt right if youre gonna win win fair….i was just on an american boxing site who said it was robbery of the century ive followed boxing my whole life and this is a croc.

ill give the early rounds to sonny bill just he did put a cut on bothas nose but he held on too much he wasnt aggressive enough and the longer the fight went on botha started getting on top thats why im so filthy they cut it from 12 rounds to 10 sonny bill copped some big shots from botha in the 9th and he def would of won….left a real sour taste in my mouth....

How does a 12 Round Fight become only 10?

WBA Rules state all Title Bouts are 12 Rounds?

Would this now mean SBW didnt win any Title?

And he lost against all of them too… Don't get me wrong, Williams is a great athlete but Botha was punching the tripe out if him towards the end and if we had have got to 11 or 12 he may not have lasted. For me it showed you can't be a part-time boxer if you want to fight people with some class and ability. Botha, who was never a crisp fighter to begin with, has slowed down even more over the last decade. But as the saying goes, the last thing a boxer loses is his power and that almost overwhelmed SBW.

So what did we learn?

SBW's management/people are just as shonky as Mundine's. To put on a 10 round fight when everyone from the press, the crowd, Botha, etc thought it was 12 rounds.

Botha was exceptional value and very likeable. Never looked like he was hurt and showed more class with a more genuine gripe that Mundine did last week.

SBW needs a lot more work if he wants to fight at the highest level. To move beyond this level he can't fight guys in the off-season.

Agreed , if SBW had exceptional talent he would K.O Botha , i mean the bloke is 44 years old (get serious) SBW is at his peak in terms of fitness , so he should of fixed him , just another money hungry Mundine , Cooper is the same.

x2.

Any fighter with an ounce of talent would have KO'd an ageing, bloated fighter like Botha by the third round. The fact that SBW not only didn't do that, but nearly lost to him in the process says that the minute he comes up against anyone half decent, he'll get dusted. Put him up against the likes of Klitschko, you may as well have a mortician handy ringside.

Being a good athlete does not constitute being a good boxer.

It means it was a farce most probably organised by World Champion Wrestling for those gullible enough to shelve out the big money. One day one of these clowns will be injured before their minder has a chance to call the match off,
