Look even if we all agree that CHN isn't as guilty as Okunbar , **he hasn't kicked on from his initial years** and we will have far better options available

If the Salary Cap drops significantly as predicted all contracts will be null and void

Not sure I can agree with that Hap, he was one of their best players last year... if not the best.

Bit like saying Eddie the Eagle was England's best ski jumper or Scott Morrison is better than Bill Shorten .....being the best of a bad bunch isn't good

But we don't have a good bunch to begin with so CHN would be a walk-up start in our team.

As I keep saying we won't be able to maintain the salary cap in 2021 we have ..things will change ...I'm hoping we can upgrade our current squad ...maybe scrap most of our current squad

I dont disagree with what you are saying but under the current NRL administration even if every contract was made null and void the same disparity in quality players will remain the same with the same clubs having the upper hand. There will be zero transparency and the pelican in charge will give it his rubber stamp

If we can look financially strong in these trying times we can change our appearance as an afterthought

Probably be a $5 scratchie lol ?

I once got a scratchie from my mum for a birthday. Already scratched!

I once got a heap of scratchies but they weren't from my mum....some chick who had the hots for me in my younger days when I was at my peak playing inside centre and tearing them apart.. and I was so naieve….

They can be hard to get rid of?

About the last 14 or so posts have been off topic.

Know it is now "Off season" BUT can we stay on topic please.

Maybe you guys can open a new thread about scratching, sea lice, bed bugs etc.

Personally I am not interested. Yes, Yes don't read it - can't avoid it when topic hijacked.

Same with "what song are you listening to now" gone off track with "deliverance"

McQueen and Lawrence prob won’t be here in 2021

Lawrence needs to retire. He has had a good run and moved from a interesting Center to an average forward. Chris, we love you and it was good to see a loyal clubman. It's time though to retire on a high.

McQueen is in a very different boat. He hasn't performed or played in quite awhile. I believe he could end up like Ben Ross, someone who has played at that top level, had a serious injury and needed to take 3 years in the wilderness (sadly on our money).

McGuire will know if McQueen should be retained. The interesting bit is how our forwards have changed, we have sacked a great worker in Matterson and hired bigger units. We needed more impact but as we saw against Newcastle our defense wasn't there, which may be a sign of our work rate dropping. McQueen, if he returned to past form could step into that spot.

Pretty sure Matterson spat the dummy and left

Rowdy is going to retire - what, you can't wait until the end of the season?

Matterson was a knight in shining armour for us until he turned into a DOG!
He effectively sacked himself.

With McQueen - you are joking of course - these days he is just a sponge - soaking up our dough and filling a spot in the 30 that we need for someone that can and will contribute.

McQueen was signed and then almost got a career ending injury ....you can't blame him for hanging on ......

I've been in my job for near 25 years ...almost half my life and I admit I can't do physically what I did then ....should I walk away as well

Can't blame McQueen for hanging on, but it will be great once he's off our books. Nothing against the bloke whatsoever but what a total waste of money he has turned out to be.

Not blaming McQueen for anything, he is a non event for us unfortunately.

However to say what "Crazycat" said "McQueen, if he returned to past form could step into that spot." - how long do you give the guy to return to past form. Imo he will never return - he is a cc player for us now on 4-450k a year and taking up a spot in the 30.

Whether you walk away Hap is up to you, same for McQueen, don't think either of you would walk away to be honest.

I am a McQueen fan, but I agree.

The thing that gets me about McQueen (as well as packer) is i look at what we are paying these guys and the output we receive back. In McQueen/Packer, we get someone who doesnt play first grade for 450-650k, then there are guys at other clubs on less than 300k who are dominating in these positions etc, or guys who are playing rep footy on equivilant money.

Reynolds, Mbye, ET, Nofo, despite playing first grade, the same can probably be said for.
