Good news Cartwright can either accept it or join centrelink though i doubt he would be smart enough to fill in the form

Bryce Cartwright is set to be stood down by the NRL as it toughens its stance on vaccination following pressure from the federal government.

Cartwright initially refused to sign a waiver accepting liability for refusing to take the flu shot, however the waiver looks set to become irrelevant with reports suggesting the NRL will adjust its policy to align with Prime Minister Scott Morrison's 'no jab, no play' suggestion.

That would rule Cartwright out indefinitely and he is not alone, with three Raiders players also refusing the flu shot due to religious beliefs.

Among those players is Test star Josh Papalii, who did not attend the first Raiders training session after the COVD-19 shutdown as he sought clarity on the NRL's vaccination policy.

Cartwright, Papalii, Sia Soliolo and Joseph Tapine are the four players who have made headlines since the flu jab was raised as an issue but there are likely to be several others at loggerheads with the tough stance.

I have no problem with punting these guys .. they have the right to choose .. there employer also has the right to choose.
We had to get a flue shot to continue seeing our parents in the nursing home whether we liked it or not !
We had no choice ...

Finally! I'm glad someone had the commonsense to override the numpties at NRL HQ.

Hopefully none of our players are stupid enough to refuse the vaccination.

From watching Benji's interview yesterday, I think all players have been vaccinated.

Isn't getting vaccinated voluntary throughout the community. I heard Kerry Chant this morning advise this to journalists at the Premier's briefing.

Back in 1995 I started work in a meatworks in country NSW, I had to have a blood test for Q fever. I had already had the illness so didn't need the vaccine, but a friend of mine is allergic to eggs and he was apply for a job at the same time. He was unable to have the vaccine due to his allergy and the company refused to employ him, so its not without precedent.

Read yesterday that 97% players/officials in the NRL have had the vaccination

Canberra are shot of this rule applies losing three members of their pack.

I think it’s a fair enough rule in the current circumstances

Manlys pack too with Taupau and Fonua-Blake

Yeah I meant Wests Tigers players, I'm paraphrasing but Benji said something along the lines that they acted as team and they all pledged to follow the protocols.

There's 20 players all up with the vaccination situation. DT named a few. Those include Dylan Walker, Marty Taupau, Addin Fonua-Blake, Josh Papalii, Sia Soliola and Joe Tapine, Sione Katoa and Bryce Cartwright

The proposal put forward to the States and Federal Governments on the restart of the NRL included that all players and staff would be vaccinated against influenza. The NRL were being complicit In allowing players to not be vaccinated. It’s wasn’t the NRL’s choice to do so and rightfully they have been rapped over the knuckles.
