Corona impact on NRL...?

“It’s in the NSW public health order that we are exempt. We also received a letter last Wednesday from relevant government authority confirming we can train and play."

Be nice if Hazard actually knew what is going on.

The NRL needs to abide by the same sort of restrictions as society. Bullishly forging ahead could create a backlash (amongst other things) that will be counter productive.

Except it has been given exemptions!

I'm off to Bunnings today for some life saving fence paint.

If it’s so crazy, why are the NRL the only competition in the world gung ho about re-starting? And why aren’t they playing today? Will it be any safer on May 28?

The aren't playing today because they were told by their pandemic expert growth was going to go past 30 or 40% so they closed the sport down. That didn't eventuate so they now believe they should have played through so are looking to start back up. If the current trends continue then yes it will be safer on May 28th?

Someone was gonna be the first. Was the first to jump always gonna be called maniacs? I applaud them for being proactive.

Until there is some indication when "social distancing" limitations will be eased on the rest of society the NRL will be viewed by many as being self involved - when the rest of us are expected to be thinking of the wider community - with no indication of when that may change.
The game can't operate under the rules placed on the rest of society, and we have been given no indication when that may be lifted. For those who have lost jobs because of those restrictions they have reason to be a bit miffed about any sanctions being eased for the NRL.

There is a strong possibility that by May 28th they will be relaxed a little yes, in saying that the NRL doesn't has exemptions to some of the stricter restrictions!

Not while restrictions are so tight, especially social distancing.

What about those who have lost jobs because of the NRL being stopped despite their ability to actually operate?

Which it seems the NRL has an exemption for?

That's why they are planning for 7 weeks time, not now. Planning.

Let’s be honest. You don’t care about NRL saving jobs, you want to watch the game for your own reasons. Which is fine, but don’t pretend to be on some noble crusade when you’re only objective is to aleve your boredom
