NSW Government institute measuring increased body temps for new arrivals. Why aren't Border Farce doing it? That's right their not trained to do it, Rather be spending time filming another episode.

Apparently the Feds think it is everyone's responsibility to keep the community safe, except during the cruise ship debacle.

US probably just looking for cash to pay off their debts.

Don't blame them to be honest. If China withheld it from the world and allowed diseased citizens to leave the country, there should be certainly some sort of reparations.

I have to agree CB,if someone does an injustice to someone else they can litigate or sue for compensation...Not turning this into a China hate thread ..only pointing out that on a global scale they also have a duty of care to their own people and to people who visit their country...I would say in a normal court of law they could be found negligent and in breach of their duty of care,,,

How would they have known early on it was any different from any flu season

It is quite similar in many ways ...with the amount of people coming and going from China by the time they knew it was too late

No that easy Hap..the CCP was warned by one of their own highly respected Drs how deadly this could be and they chose to act very slowly given the evidence ...the Dr working on it that warned them subsequently died....not hating ...stating facts,,,...

I would have a agreed with you a few weeks ago TT but after seeing how slow every other country has responded (except for Taiwan and a few others) I can't now.

I think China has done a lot of positive things once they were aware of the gravity of the situation, we scoffed at how draconian their restrictions were but we're slowly emulating China's responses.:


* Building Huoshenshan hospital in 10 days equipped with ct scanning; x ray, er unit etc, making sure the hospital was logistically convenient. All parameters were calcuated.
* QR code scanning for every citizen
* Tempertaures taken at most places of gathering
*Scanning of QR codes and scanning ID cards (we and even me would normally cry foul but at this time it is crucial)
* sitting side by side instead of face to face
* mandatory face masks
* Live Covid 19 App udates of exact locations of positive cases (from citizens scanning their personal details everywhere they go)

I think its incredible

i could go on and on but this isnt just China, its Taiwan; Japan, Korea etc

Just as incredible are the cover ups, arresting of doctors and false information provided to other countries around the severity of this virus.

Seems these times have brought out the best and worst in people.
Listening to MMM on the Gold Coast today and there was 2 people who rang in to tell of total strangers paying for there groceries.
Unfortunately my partner who is a nurse at Gold Coast hospital came home yesterday and they have been told not to wear there uniforms in public after another nurse wasspat on and told she was spreading disease, she was on her way to work. 2 other cases of other nurses being verbally abused.

Why the hell would anyone blame nurses for any of this? Sorry mate, that's just plain nuts.

Nurses should be some of the highest paid workers imo

The shame is that it takes times like this for many to appreciate the low paid such as them, that are the true backbone of society. Hopefully, if nothing else comes out of this, the nurses, cleaners, garbos, police, teachers, truckies, supermarket packers and social assistance workers etcetera, will be much more respected. More than that though, that the lower paid among them not only get a decent pay rise, but more permanent positions for life security.

If anything like we are seeing play out overseas hits us, I would hope that nurses in particular are getting paid double time for their sacrifice and placing their own welfare at great risk.

You'll be right, but having said that, I have once felt queasy when watching it come out. Was odd though, as I have donated blood on numerous occasions and seen plenty of it in life, never bothered except that once.
