Ive started tracking cases again like I was at the beginning and I can confirm that the growth in new cases is now back to being exponential and the rate of growth is the same as it was 7 April.

Not good. But we can do this, we did before...

People have to take responsibility and practice physical distancing. I just cannot comprehend how people go anywhere when sick and/or have tested positive. Just stay home, it’s really not that hard. Don’t catch a train to a Sydney (that’s about as stupid as you can get), don’t go to work.

I just want to give a shout out to the manager at Woolies Balmain for picking up that their employee was sick and putting the store Covid19 protocols in place. Staff quarantined and store undergoing a deep clean. Well done.

It is disappointing when people are selfish or slack. Humanity is good, but people, well, Slipknot had a song about people. People equals, I'll let you look it up so I don't get banned.

I came to that conclusion when everyone started panic buying. Was nice to see how everyone would handle a crisis.

FWIW, little upturn again

"The hope is that by July the country's really rocking again." Well, the nepotist's appointment in Jared Kushner certainly got his wish, with the US hitting off a month of celebration by recording more than 50k daily positives and proving their relatively unchecked virus is playing it's own tune. Even with their long experience and improved techniques in treating the virus' patients, I expect they will regain their position at the top of the daily death count in the next few weeks and if not, they will almost certainly be close to doing so.

Balmain woolies infected with Corona courtesy of the Victorian Labor Party ! Even though positive in quarantine just walked out and straight to Balmain not made to have a test before leaving .. well done !

Let’s face it? Victorians are not real bright. They have the government they want and all their inept political appointments.
We should never have introduced them to the intellectual game of rugby league, should have left them kicking a ball to each other while they pretend they’re not waiting for cricket season.

Independence Day celebrations coming up too. Prepare for a spike in 2 weeks.

The exponential multiplier (rate of growth) has doubled in the last 2 days, back to the levels at 02/04/2020. This is growing exponentially again and must be community transmission now throughout at least Vic. This is not cases in quarantine anymore.

This sounds like a really morbid question, and I don't mean it in a bad way. How long does it take typically for someone to die, from when they're infected?

I ask as the global infection rate has really skyrocketed in recent weeks, to now about 200,000 per day. But the daily fatalities hasn't gone up for a long time, it keeps hovering around 4,000 - 5,000 per day. And I was wondering if this hasn't gone up because there's a lag of months for fatalities, or if it hasn't gone up because we're getting better at treating it?

My best guess is that more of the infected are younger people with a higher ratio of females while those who don’t believe in conspiracy theories and who may be more fearful of the virus tend to be older males with male pattern baldness and others at higher risk because of weak immunity.
However, the global death rate has been dropping for a while to its current rate of 8%, while Australia’s rate has always been low at 1%. I too am concerned for people.

Of course it depends if they have underlying conditions but is can take up to 6 weeks for people to recover so I think that is a pretty good yardstick for how long it takes to die. Hard to find any definitive stats on this aspect of Covid19 but an educated guess would be up to 6-10 weeks. That’s also why there is a lag between an increase in infection rates and an increase in death rates, it takes a while for people to die.

Now there are confirmed cases in social housing towers in Melbourne, this could or will get very ugly. Locking down all those people in the towers is drastic.

One thing about Defence personnel, they are professionals. These security companies were entrusted with a role and they have let Australia down. Profit before the safety of Australians. Pink batts Mk11

Brad Hazzard has contacted Dutton to force border shutdowns, who in turn has arranged to cut the Ruby Princess into sections, then drop them on all bridge crossings.

Anyone trying to escape disease and their government's tyranny that are caught attempting to enter by boat will be taken to Nauru for at least seven years, but if Australian children are part of any family group, then they will be flown to Christmas Island and kept there indefinitely with one other family at great expense. At either, they will be looked after by the most wonderful of wonderful private security guards from Paladin.

I was just shocked that the 450 international limit per day on passengers into Sydney has been forced on the NSW Govt due to Qld (there may be others) Govts requiring passengers to pay for quarantine hotels. This means most international passengers are arranging to land in Sydney and receive free quarantine. This also means NSW virus numbers have been artificially increased by counting passengers who transit through to other States.

They should send the returning passengers to their home states for quarantining, why should NSW taxpayers have to pay for people from other states.

We had a few days last week where we cracked 450 people inwards comfortably.

Many that "recover" are still in no shape to carry on life as normal for many months after. I think the vast majority of the general population don't tend to consider that. It's not a simple "get better and all's well" kind of scenario.
