Just shows what a low life he is.

Which?

Vic
725 cases
15 deaths
The deaths were:

one male in his 30s
three males and one female in their 70s
three males, three females in their 80s
three males, one female in their 90s
12 linked to aged care

There are 7,227 total active cases and total active cases with a connection to aged care are 1,435.
There are currently 538 people in hospital and 42 of those people are receiving intensive care.

We have companies in Victoria looking for loopholes so they can continue working. This mentality is why the cases in VIC are still increasing. Some down there just don’t get it.

The founder of Jim's mowing basically said they would breech the regulations and would pay workers fines.

So they should. Shutting down lawnmowing services is insane. You can mow your own lawn but not pay someone to do it?

No you can’t. Physical distancing is the only weapon that currently works against Covid19. While the act itself of mowing the lawn is probably safe enough it’s what people do in between the act of mowing the lawn that will have an will impact. How many people do they come in contact in the process? If they pick up Covid19, they are probably travelling from one location to another and therefore spreading the virus far and wide.

Rubbish, there is no reason to get within 2m of anyone when mowing their lawns. It is ridiculous over reactions like this that result in people saying "screw this" and defying the lockdowns.

It is entirely possible to safely operate this business and for no logical reason, peoples livelihoods are being burned.

There maybe no reason to but I can guarantee with 100% certainty that some would absolutely do that. It’s human nature. That’s why they are being locked down because people simply would not follow good practices. Ie not going to work after testing positive or when sick.

IMO, "human nature" is precisely the reason Lawnmowing services should be permitted. It is easy to do safely and is an easy method to allow some people to continue to make a living and save their businesses. Human nature is that if they are told what to do and it makes no sense and seems unreasonable, human nature is to ignore it.

Nope, nada. Totally reasonable given the behaviour of some Victorians to date. Lots of things are easy to do safely but a section of the Victorian population have proven that they simply cannot. Remember 800 of 3000 people that were supposed to be self isolating were out when actually checked. Victorian’s only have other Victorian’s to blame for the current situation.

Don’t forget this all started because some security guard(s) couldn’t keep it in there pants. Yeah easy if everyone does the right thing, trouble is some don’t and what you have in Victoria is the result.

I get the impression Tiger5150 that the Govt is trying to make a statement. Level 3 restrictions were fairly reasonable and yet a proportion of citizens (not the majority) decided to ignore them. These harsher restrictions are intended as a wake up call and to get everyone to realise just how serious this situation COULD become.

Also, you can't make a set of rules that dovetails nicely into everyone's occupations (Ok you can have lawn mowing, but not cleaning. But I only clean external windows etc, etc..ad nauseum.) So it is a bit of a one size fits all strategy.

I can see that and thats fair enough. I also think its going to be tougher to keep everyone tied down a second time. Regardless I hope they are successful. We need it to be.

Hard to believe that with well over a thousand health workers succumbing to the virus, that our federal authorities still don't consider and recommend an N95 mask over that of a surgical one for those on the front line, nor for aged care. Madness.

Agreed. It needs to be at least an N95 or better yet N99. Surgical masks will do nothing to mitigate the risk in that environment. Virus control is not what surgical mask are designed for.

did anyone see that interview between that aussie reporter and Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon

most awkward interview ever

It’s always awkward when someone is shown to be completely out of their depth and watching them flail madly. I kinda felt sorry for him actually.

The sad thing is half of the USA is exactly like him. They would've seen that interview and come up with some bonkers justification for his behaviour in it.

Not saying this is BS, but it would be naive to think this is a recent pic just because someone posted it on Facebook. With the amount of people who hate the Storm, and Smith more specifically, anyone could dig up an old pic and say “hey, I just took this pic”. It might be legit, but unless they had to give their names at the door, there might not be a way to know or not. And if it is legit, wouldn’t it be the same as what happened to Vaughan and Bennett where they go into isolation?
