Scomo is a bad joke

Perhaps because we have the freedom of choice and would like to keep it.

So you wouldn’t complain if you just happened to be a patient in a hospital and you were infected by a health care worker ?

Nope, I’d probably recover from the ‘bug’ as most people have already. You can catch anything at anytime in a hospital believe me, and probably worse things than Covid 19.

I know a student nurse and was wondering about this and the hospital she is training at in Sydney most of the Doctors and nurses are not getting the vaccine so interesting times ahead

What a suprise somebody has joined a football forum to make a single post which just happens to be about the coronavirus.

Would you like to talk about sun spots and global warming ?

Feel free, also football is another possibility

Also his statement is completely fabricated or using a very small sample. Most people in hospital systems are keen to get vaccinated or already have been. A large number of nursing students were also asking about vaccination before heading out to their current placements.

Not if you want to work with the vunerable.

Just who are the vulnerable now though Cochise? It’s changing rapidly all the time, most of the older people in Australia are quite well protected, but what we are seeing now is younger, previously healthy people being adversely affected not by COVID-19, but by the vaccine. You won’t hear a lot about it of course unless you’re in it, but questions are being asked and rightly so.

To be fair, only about half of our vulnerable are even partially protected and there is also a lot out there about long haul covid, plus increasingly so in the younger amongst us, including primary age students as the newer variants taken hold.

Health comes under state. I'd love nothing more than have another opportunity to put the toe into Scomo but that's not his jurisdiction.

Vaccines are federal and not ordered directly by the states or territories.

To be cynical, this could be a blessing in disguise, after hearing that even vaccine inventors cry: stop it!

I don’t know where this is going to end up, but right now see vaccines as the the only way to get things back to being part of the world, rather than an insular outpost.

I was watching Wimbledon last night and they have full crowds and life is getting back to normal. We have gone from leading the world in our response to the outbreak to now being behind everyone else due to a failed vaccine rollout.

I know it’s One Nation, but please listen to Sen Malcolm Roberts’ interview with an open mind, he makes a lot of sense from where I stand.

They still are getting an increase in cases, up to 25K a day, however the death rate is still flatlining. about 350K vaccines a day puts us to shame.

Scotty from Marketing did a wonderful job selling the AZ vaccine. wonder if he still gets his bonus?

Thing is even after vaccine the numbers are going to be high as it doesn't seem to prevent infection but lowers the severity of the illness.

Yes but mandating the health services be mandatorily vaccinated is a state responsibility.

The six health workers who attended the Hoxton Park party were the only ones who did not contract COVID. The remaining 24 guests all did. Pretty sure the Pfizer jab does a very job good job of preventing infection, not just symptomatic COVID.

No argument there. But it's not Scomo's call.

It is madness that health workers and anyone involved in HQ is not vaccinated. I don't care for personal choice arguments. Find other work if you're not prepared to get it.

Last night on Q&A they had a 76 year old still working in aged care who'd repeatedly asked for the Pziser vaccine but can't get it for God knows what reason .....and under the new guidelines she won't be able to work because it is too risky for her to get AZ .......

Look I don't blame SCo Mo for making a bad call with the AZ ...but we should have been moving heaven and earth to get more Pziser .....

Agree. It made sense for Australia to chase the AZ vaccine because it could be made here. However, for a vaccine that has been rushed through for better want of a term, there should have been adequate stocks on hand of alternatives in case short and medium term issues were found through use of AZ.

Could have always on-sold or donated our stocks to our pacific neighbours if we didn't use them.

Surely we could have tried speaking with Biden .....we are allies alledgedly .....even if we'd gotten 1.5 million for the short term and agreed to take less in September

Maybe our early on success was actually our own downfall ...US /Pziser saw us not needing the vaccines as much as many other more highly populated countries with way bigger numbers
