Being vaccinated also prevents long covid as well. That sounds truely terrible.

Death aside, this is a critical area that does not get the attention it deserves for mine. It may well end up being lifelong debilitating suffering for many of those affected.

Almost Chronic Fatigue, may be the reason it gets no coverage. It would be the worst thing I could imagine

No, this is actually the stuff that gets no coverage. Watch it, please don’t dismiss it.

The states and feds have agreed to halve the number of new arrivals allowed into the country each week.

This is a sensible step I think - it's not saying passport holders can't return home as some were worried about, but it is making the numbers more manageable. As it was, we weren't coping.

Watched it. Statistically, you are many more likely to get killed/maimed/severely injured driving your car than have a reaction. Many many accepted medications have a higher % of adverse reactions than the vaccines.

Not dismissing it but it needs to be taken in perspective.

There is a dangerous mathematical trick in all of this which was exposed in that peer reviewed study on the Israeli field data I posted earlier. There is a percentage of people that contract the virus that will die, around 1%. There is a percentage of people that will be seriously impacted by the virus.

There is also a percentage of people that get the vaccine that will die or be severely impacted. This percentage is a lot less than the 1% of the virus.......but the number of people getting the vaccine will be a lot bigger than the number that contract the virus.

That is the mathematically trick in that study. That study shows mathematically based on the Israeli data that to save 3 lives from dying of Covid, 2 people need to die of the vaccine. It sounds horrific and to an extent it is, but it is a mathematical illusion because deaths by Covid is a small percentage of a smaller number against an even smaller percentage (deaths by vaccine) of a massively larger number.

It is based on the fact that the NNTV (number needed to vaccinate) to save 1 life from Covid is around 400K.

EDIT: Please note that there were errors in the methodology of this article and this article has been retracted. I think it’s important to make this point so that it doesn’t color the discussion on this important issue.

Yup. Maths can argue any way you want. As an example you also need to factor in non deaths from a low flu season (funny less people get sick if you wash your hands...), and increased deaths as COVID overwhelms medical systems to get a true reflection.

As hospitals are overwhelmed, people choose to delay treatment and that increases death rates, and Doctors literally choose who they try to save. It's savage. Not to mention the number of doctors, nurses and first responders that die as well. As an example India estimates it will have 50% less medical staff after Covid.

Fundamentally, I believe each to their own. If you don't want to vaccinate, so be it, it's your choice and its my choice, wars were fought so you could have that choice.

Might be a harsh verdict ....but if you are leaving Australia without a vaccine whatever risks that occur or if you fall in the too hard basket getting back into the country you go to the back of the cue

This would solve so many issues imo .....

I cant get over what I just heard Scomo announce.

From a date in the near future, they will no longer track or report COVID case numbers. It will be just like the Flu and they will treat it like the flu.

What the hell? We have 8% fully vaccinated. What the hell has changed?

Scomo from Marketing in full force. Head in the sand stuff. So he can open the borders and not have to track the cases is what I suspect. Especially to let students and work visa back in.

It makes zero sense. Ill wait until I read the details, maybe its dependednt on 80% vax rates or something?

Doesn't help that foreign nationals were being admitted willy nilly. Absolute joke.

They do track the flu, there's statistics on mortality rates from the flu. Hopefully all the state's tell him to jack it and keep doing so.

He is easily the worst prime minister this country has ever had. I know all PMs since Howard have all been panned in one way or another, but none of them hold a candle to this clown.

It actually makes sense there, they 60-70 vax rates and at some stage they do have to go on like normal.

I'll tell you what doesnt make sense. In the UK, they have 85% of the population at least partially vaccinated, 65% fully. 150K vaccinated a day. With 85% vaccinated, they are getting 28K new cases A DAY! 150K over the last week which is up by 72%. 22 deaths per day which is up 11%. Why are all these going up with 85% vaccination.

https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

Now they are announcing that they arent going to record or report case numbers and treat it like the flu. Its almost like the vaccines arent working like they expected and arent keen on proving it?

Ah OK. Still messed up but not as bad as I thought.

Again hopefully the states continue to do so. Basically it is up to the premiers to work together to stop this all going to pot.

So what he has said is he sees covid as dangerous as the flu is there any other way to interpret his comments ?
