With the higher number of infectious in community numbers I am starting to wonder now if people are honestly jack of the government. Are they at the point where they are refusing to take a personal economic hit because the state didn't do what was needed when it was necessary in locking down the Eastern Suburbs?

It is easy for me to comment from my position as I can work from home, have everything I need and am in an area with no recorded cases.

It would be much harder for those living week to week being told that they cannot leave for work and have to take leave, or if they are casual, stay home without pay and try to apply for government support. JobKeeper would likely still not be enough for many, while the areas that started this outbreak (who are the demographic who could handle a hard lockdown,) were flogged with a wet lettuce leaf and not locked down properly and facilitated the spread.

I’m still working.. government can get bent !
I’m not dropping 3-3.5k a week just because they can’t get there shit together.

Even got pulled over just after Faulco station yesterday arvo ..
cops can’t do Jack if you give them a reasonable excuse !

Thing is that that you don't need to go to work to survive and can likely get by with the current payments (which I have long stated is inadequate) and as a tradie have been one of the lucky ones that have until now been basically unaffected.

Every single person that does similarly potentially makes the collective a much bigger risk and played a part in what got us to this point and is making the lockdown last longer.

Sure, I strongly blame the government for also having us here, but community needs to be the driver for us all to get out of this and every action of greed also keeps those doing the right thing in lockdown longer.

I’m working on 2 empty townhouse’s atm ..
I don’t see any issue .
I’ve had all materials delivered to the site .
I do the right thing wearing masks and QR code’s when buying fuel .
I’m booked in for the vax .
I go straight to work then straight home
I’m not receiving any handouts and I don’t want any either ..
it’s my old mans 75th today ..will I see him .. no I won’t. ! I’ll call him later !

Scomo and Gladys can shove it ..
And the police can’t do shit tbh !

We’re all in this together.. NOT .. different rules for different folks !

And as for calling it greed you can shove that as well ..

How about selfish, as we certainly aren't all in this together when you and others are purposefully flouting the rules.

It’s more of a risk going to bloody coles than what I’m doing !

And yes we have our groceries delivered !

And what makes me laugh is that if you want , we can still use dirty money ( cash) to pay for shit .. go figure !

If the authorities were deadset serious about this and lockdown the lot then yes I would 100% comply !!!!!!!!

If some people don't comply it encourages other people not to comply.

We are at a critical point, if the numbers get much higher than they currently are we will lose the ability to properly contact trace and all of a sudden we'll be seeing thousands of daily infections, not hundreds. People need to just stay home.

LOCK AUSTRALIA DOWN. Forget about the vaccinations and wait until we have a safe and approved vaccination until we consider reopening the country. The government pushing this lab rat vaccination agenda is an absolute disgrace.

Back to reality.

1. You can't shut the country down completely.
2. We vaccinate. We let it rip. People will die but it will save the vast majority of people. The ones who choose not to vaccinate will suffer from this much more than they need too but that is the cost of letting people make their own decisions.

It would have been good to have some special quarantine facility but the reality is we've kept it until control up until the home run and it's only the delta strain that is really giving it to us. I think by Christmas we will probably be in the let it rip phase.

Unfortunately, it’s this mentality of what reality should be is what I shake my head at. You’re literally saying you’re accepting people to die from this when it doesn’t have to be that way at all.

It actually does. You don't have a choice. Do we stop everyone from talking to each other to stop people dying from the flu ? Do we still drive cars ? Do we still fly in planes ?

Reality. You can't avoid it. People die. It sucks.

Get vaccinated. Don't eat too much meat and junk food. Exercise. Don't smoke. Put the odds in your favor.

That is all you get in this life.

“You don’t have a choice” We all have choices and a voice. People flock to much around an accepted version of what reality is. Look at the protesting overseas, people have had enough of their “reality”

The fact is though, Australia can stay safe from this virus for years if we have to. Simply by closing our borders and only reopening them once there is a safe and approved vaccine.

We’re basically doing it now, but just a band aid version.

There is no way we could stay locked down for years. It would be a disaster. You also eleventh didn't state what we should do about the flu and poor diet and smoking and cars and planes and millions of other things.

My Parents live in the Cumberland LGA last night got fireworks and celebrating on the streets these people just do not care and are spreading it ! No cops just to afraid of the confrontation! Sad days ahead I think ,

Yeah, it's already been teetering on the precipice, so seeing non-compliance by anyone, let alone those flouting the rules simply because they think others are or perceived to be getting a better deal is both disappointing and disheartening.

Especially so when it will contribute to the cost of lives as a result, likely of other than themselves from illness and suicide. It's a bit like the climate situation, with some neglecting that we all live in the same environment.

Even more galling - Harvey Norman received around $22 million dollars in Jobkeeper, went on to record record profits, and didn't pay it back. 'Your tax dollars at work'.

NSW edition of 'You have to worry when':

- The premier stops saying how people are out in the community while infectious. She said 48 today but the real number of people (whole + partially) was actually 70-87 according to NSW Health
- Cases with unknown sources jumps from 104 last week to 223 this week
- 'Outbreaks' in new areas are called 'spillover'
- It's taking a week to get venues of concern listed
- CHO is replaced by her deputy with no explanation after saying that NSW is at testing capacity
- The virus goes bush

And every time Gladys gets pinned with a difficult question she starts with what sounds like it will be an answer, but then morphs into "....and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the people of NSW blah blah blah.." . And there you have another question that goes unanswered.

So, whenever you hear that you can be pretty certain that Gold Standard Gladys is peeing in your pocket again.

I probably, no, I should have addressed or at least acknowledged more of this post earlier, rather than just starting with a reaction to the ultimate sentence and the few above it, whilst wrongly disregarding the substance above.

I read your police one a while back and though disappointed to say the least, decided at the time to let it slide. That was until I came back from taking the dog for a walk, during which I saw a floor sander from up the road with a couple of other tradies outside the local take away.

To me this encapsulated a lot of the unnecessary contact through which we find ourselves in this situation with more of it on the horizon as a result and I directed my frustration at you.

  couldn't agree more...

Got my shop in Artarmon. Online orders, click & collect for now.

Only way I'll shut down is if the gov't foots the bill and covers everything. Until then they can get stuffed.

The current handouts wouldn't make a dent in my overheads.
Still paying my staff to come in and do their normal stuff so the business stays profitable.

Again, these state premiers and health advisers are a bunch of flogs. I'm pretty sure they're still getting paid during these lockdowns whilst at the same time telling people to stay home and forfeit their paychecks for the greater good...

And as for calling it greed you can shove that as well ..

  couldn't agree more...

Yep .. we’re governed by a bunch of useless flogs mate !
Good luck with the business champ !
