Australia is a remarkable success story in this pandemic. Our compliance has not been a waste. Many thousands of lives saved. Or were we born with better immunity?

I don’t think we will ever be immune to this virus. I had a feeling this virus would mutate and was in no rush to get vaccinated. As a result current vaccines will be in effective against this new strain.

I just hope it mutates into something less deadly and more in line with a common cold. Yes, folks will still die, but not on mass.

FFS I love the older generation as much as anyone. F$&k I’m next in line, you don’t think that resonates? If this was Ebola or some strain that killed 50% it’d be different. But it’s not. It kill’s old and or sick people. EVERYTHING kills old and sick people. It’s called life. Where does this end?
I remember when I was a 10yo kid, doing backflips of the 10m tower at Leichhardt pool. Back then the rule was if you climbed up, you weren’t allowed down unless you jumped. These days you need a diving degree to use the 1m board.
My point is that the choice and freedom to express yourself and experience the results of YOUR decisions has been systematically eroded within my lifetime, to a point where I’m now arguing to maintain any form of individuality.
Im an old dad and I have a young daughter who I want desperately to have as good if not better childhood experiences as I did. But when I think about it there’s no way she will because she’s not allowed to be herself. And that makes me really sad. Because I did. And you’re pop did. I still dont understand that this so called virus that suddenly mutates at convenient times becomes more deadly and transmissable than the last one,when science has proven that the viruses when mutated gets weaker...
I also recall it is just slightly more severe than the normal flu we get year round,however that normal flu that just happens to have completely disappeared the last two years only needed a yearly flu shot for it if you wanted it..
now apparently you need 2 shots and whatever amount of boosters annually to overcome this so called virus....

Regardless of one's thoughts on Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) or wanting to get vaccinated, it is abhorrent that this far into a pandemic that pharmaceutical companies are allowed to be raking in billions upon billions whilst all capabilities around the globe are still not being utilised to manufacture and provide vaccines to each and every individual living on it.

This is patently false. We got the outbreak under control in NSW and Victoria. We've saved 1000's of lives. Are you saying saving lives is a bad thing ?

Also - don't take this as gospel because we need more time to assess but it appears the Omicron virus isn't that virulent within people who have antibodies although they can still catch it. That means that the vaccine appears to still be working.

I don’t think we will ever be immune to this virus. I had a feeling this virus would mutate and was in no rush to get vaccinated. As a result current vaccines will be in effective against this new strain.

All viruses mutate. You realize the flu mutates a lot more than COVID right. The vaccines have stood up well so far against mutations.
