This is complete and utter dribble. Our society is divided by the right wing conspiracy nutters spreading misinformation.

Facts should matter. It's the perversion of facts which has caused your issues in this pandemic. I view you and other person who creates crazy narratives as victims of this misinformation.

I'd love this and other discussions to be calm and rational and factual.

Lastly I'm starting to be against vaccine mandates (unless it's required at work) and I accept that my attitude will lead to increased deaths. I think it's people choice if they want to accept an increased risk profile and potentially death.

No one though should have the right to manipulate the facts to benefit themselves and screw over people like yourself.

I dont feel screwed over at all,I make my decisions based on my personal health and life ambitions...
If the MSM media tells you the sky is green,do you believe them or do you go and seek another opinion...much like if a doctor gives you an opinion on what you should do,dont you go and seek a second opinion to varify his initial diagnoses if your not sure ...

Let us at least try to not resort to name calling, whether that be snowflake, clown or nut job etcetera.

I sort of agree but there is a problem in that the stuff that the anti-vaxx supporters state consistently consists of lies or fantasies.

I have a friend who is schizophrenic and he comes up with wild stories. Those stories are very similar to the stories the anti-vaxxers state.

If they were logical and accepted the facts but stated they believe for their own personal risk profile it's not worth being vaccinated then it'd be much easier to discuss.

I just wanted to point out Earl, that there are anti-vaxers who have an opinion that they believe in ....
Vax hesitant people are a different group who dont agree with this experimental drug...Greg Hunt even said he doesnt know the result of this drug trial until 2023..that is why the hesitency was high....
Myself personally have had many proven tested vaccines such as smallpox, polio and tetunus...I just dont think the risk of the injection to me of a 99% survival of the virus compared to blood clotting is worth it....

ps.. I spent 4 months on warpharin and blood tests twice a week when I had blood clots to me I dont want to go through that again...it had an impact on my life that wasnt pleasant...so once again I weighed up boths sides of the argument to make my decision...

Good for you, all the best with that ?
You’re choices are yours. Others are theirs. But when you come on here talking shit about anyone who disagrees, you’re just being a big sook.
Life’s relative to each of us individually pal. Just like opinions. There’s no one size fits all solutions. Just deal with it and stop chuckling your toys out the cot.
Oh yeah and when you do that thing where you pretend that people who have ‘A’ different opinion to you are all the same (nut jobs, conspiracy theorists, etc) you really do expose how ignorant you are.
Just a heads up ?

Good advice, but also please remember opinions can have flow-on effects.

I don't think it's responsible for a person to express their opinion without considering the effects it may have on others. For example, I think Wests Tigers are the greatest team to support - that opinion is pretty much harmless. But if I said I think people who do such-and-such an activity should be rounded up and shot, then that is irresponsible. Such a comment could incite discrimination, hatred, a toxic mindset, and it could encourage other individuals to think and act the same.

So yes, think what you like, but there are limits to what a person can publicly say (or imo there should be) as it affects others.

I do think @paul-wright was overstepping that mark, and I have seen several anti-vaxxers in here also imo overstepping that mark.

"Yep. It’s extremely safe and effective. I find it funny that they even try not to release the information unless you made that up which may be true".

I don't need to make anything up Earl. The fact that you would think that this is a possibility says more about you than me. Why would Pfizer want this information hidden? Are you serious? I guess you believe 1223 deaths is OK from a safe and effective jab.

"I assume a reasonable way to view this is 1223 deaths out of say 4 billion people".

Well, you know what they say about assumptions. Read the information. Those 1223 deaths were in the FIRST 90 days following the roll out, (just from the Pfizer jab). I don't know how many got jabbed in that time frame - do you? Certainly not the 4 billion that you suggest above.

"Just some random death statistics:-

Texting while driving causes 6000 deaths in the US alone.
Falling out of bed kills 450 people annually in the U.S.
The US has say 350k people.

Let’s add another to the long list of proof that the anti-vaxxers provide that is hilarious. It’s comedy gold".

Once again the use of the term 'anti-vaxxer' used by intellectually lazy people trying to denigrate those with a differing view point on these particular drugs.
And just so you can compare apples with apples. No drug that is in its trial stage has ever been rolled out to the general population when it has caused more that 50 deaths. That's right Earl - 50 deaths!
I don't find any of this hilarious Earl. I find it perplexing. I also find it sad that politicians with the expressed help of the media are successfully dividing a society, dividing families and tearing apart friendships based on false information and fear tactics.
Remember, this 'virus' has a 99% survival rate even without treatment. And there are now over a thousand studies supporting a variety of treatments as being effective and cost effective.

Anyway Earl, I am sure I have provided more 'comedy gold' for you.

Also all cause mortality in the UK for vaccinated is now around 2.6 percent and the unvaccinated still 1.2 percent crazy ha

The big problem I have with your statement is the idea that the MSM are selling you some narrative. In reality you are being sold misinformation and you've fallen for it.

Just as a side point I personally don't get much if any detailed information of the MSM and the guy that I get the most information from has been praised as providing an alternative to the MSM.

My big concern with the anti-vaxxers is that they either completely ignore the facts or twist the facts and get it completely wrong.

A good example is that Pfizer release information that was provided above. It proved that the vaccine was safe and effective but the anti-vaxx propaganda merchants (is that a better term) used it completely incorrectly.

There’s a lot of discriminating and hate language on this thread, (as per your mates original post) but I don’t see much coming from the minority whom you live to incorrectly label.

There certainly is a lot of hate language in this thread, maybe they keep this thread open to give people one place to let out some of that bile and hold the rest of the forum to a higher standard.

I have no interest in going back through the posts in this thread to validate how much is being said by who, I try to keep out of this one to tell the truth (too much hate in here). It is clear to me that people (both in favour of the covid vaccinations and those against) in this thread have made comments belittling people who disagree with them.

Serious question.

Are people even talking about Covid anymore?

My friends all have more interesting things to talk about.

Apart from the odd tin-foil hat post I see from anti-vax family on social media, it seems like everyone else has moved on.

@papacito said in [Coronavirus Outbreak](/post/1516682) said:

It appears that there is a 4th wave about to hit the world so I assume people are speaking about it.

I'm hopeful we are all okay but I think it's a little scary.

Plenty of tin foil hat stuff still going on within this thread. I think it's a political fight for some people and that is where all the tin foil hat stuff comes from.

The majority of the anti-vacc arguments originates from 1 side of politics in the USA,the same side that push the conspiracy theories.Communication in the modern age helps in promoting these theories to a wider audience.
