The Australian government has discovered the Napalise way the Napalise have no corona virus because they don't test and so nothing to report and all is fixed

They have already stated they won't have enough test kits to test everyone. They need to conserve their resources. Otherwise just like toilet paper and other groceries we will run out and waste our stock.

We have to be reasonable in our expectations. The world has not been ready to handle this situation. We don't know how bad this virus is. The flu is estimated to kill 600k people each year. The latest coronavirus figures are about to hit 13k. It's really hard to be confident in the data as well. Germany has a lot of positive cases but a low mortality rate. Italy is completely devastated.

Interesting data coming out of the UK showing there numbers day by day are identical to Italy’s.
Fears they have left it too late.

Re Australia they aren’t fudging the numbers, we have a very high test rate especially in nsw - states are publishing there numbers.

NSW has actually tested more than France and Spain!

The guy from SA just told me all data about reporting the numbers of corona case must be only reported to the government and they will release what numbers they to not scare people

So the Government is deliberately miss leading the people..?

You're not suggesting a manipulation of the stats?

Hey, Vietnam - body counts and US units carrying AK47s and Tokarevs just to make the body counts a bit more favourable, especially if you suffer causalities or there are West 😛oint graduates looking for a quick promotion.

I think things are slowly improving at the supermarkets... Delivery time restrictions have been relaxed and the panic buying pin heads have crawled back into their mcmansions.... Did a usual shop last night where we usually get frozen fruit for smoothies... Sometimes six different flavoured packets... Go 3 last nihhhht but . Was only allowed two but the guy at the self serve said just do 2 transaction.... We also had four pkts of chips lol

Why do the panic buyers live in McMansions? Seems like a strange thing to say.

OK... It's strange

No seriously, I am really interested as to how/ why you have suggested the hoarders/ panic buyers are apparently rich and live in big houses? You wrote it, just after an explanation to gauge what you meant by it.

The poor probably can not afford to hoard!

Absolute rubbish. The amount of people tested has been made freely available. Cut the crap.

The thing about people’s argument re Flu rates vs COVID is that the Flu is seasonal already, meaning year on year we have plenty of data plus a vaccine. It is freely available across the world without restrictions.

With COVID we are running off daily data without a Vaccine, and climbing despite all the isolation attempts going on as such a like for like view has no merit yet.

You obviously live in a McMansion and are a hoarder ..otherwise you wouldn’t have got your knickers all bunched up .

Getting a bit of your of your Infowars routine. Sorry to be blunt. These sorts of posts are what’s responsible for the whole country being in panic mode. The last thing this forum should be is a platform to promote hoaxes. Everyone seems to know someone atm. I was in the checkout at Coles last week and a kid serving was convinced we’d be in lockdown by the Friday just gone. Everyone thinks they know something, but they know nothing. No one can predict where things will be in a day let alone 2 weeks.

I was the one posting about seasonal Flu, and I agree with you. I wasnt making the argument that they are like for like, they clearly arent for at least the reasons you post.

I was creating a point of reference and making the point that if we followed the rates and deaths of seasonal flu the way we follow COVID, we would also be freaking out, but we dont, we just live our lives.

If the already rampant attacks there aren't already bad enough, as the shitt starts really hitting the fan a week or so from now in the US, with their citizens dying in much larger numbers than now, I wouldn't want to be Asian looking and find myself around any delusional gun owners, especially those with an affinity for red caps.

After reading your last few comments, it appears you really want to make racism and/or Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon a part of this discussion.

Something you want to get off your chest?

Yes, long before this crisis I have felt that the current governments and their policies have the power to literally control my child's future environment, as the planet reaches tipping point and as such have taken a much greater interest in the leaders of powerful nations.

Nothing annoys me much more than rascism in electioneering and that is exactly what we have seen play out over the past week. This was obviously done to divert attention from the previous lies of the failed earlier campaigning approach to the virus, such as when wearing his red KAG cap to the CDC and not remotely addressing the huge issue at hand, of which they had tremendous knowledge from briefings. Racial attacks there have been ramping up by the day as a result of his rhetoric, which was in stark contrast to that of the VP and other's standing at the lectern and as of the past minutes I have no doubt that powerful law enforcement figures have told the white house that deaths would result if he continued with it.

I was listening to the daily US briefing on the Fox News YouTube channel when I opened this notification and I note positively that the rhetoric seems to have stopped today, so I assume that they stopped crossing out the word Corona and replacing it in permanent marker with Chinese in his speeches, which illustrates just how deliberate it was.

At this point of the address I have not heard him mention China nor immigrants, so it looks like they have realised the error of their ways. Hang on, I take that back, as he has just started talking about China in answer to a general question on his previous dismissive position. His answer though, was much different to the past days and whilst calling them out, he dealt with it appropriately.

It is good to see that he can actually do it, as the nation and world need today's version of the man and particularly so right now. As long as Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon can stick even remotely to the facts, we can all put up with the unnecessary incredible, the best and the greatest type jargon, but from the questioning, he must also stop writing misinformation, particularly medically related on Twitter.

As for my direct contact to rascism, I am a white male, however, my family is subject to it on just about every single day that they leave the house and it is very real, so it sits firmly in my chest.

@formerguest this is not a knock on you, I am merely selecting your post as an example to make the point.

Can I make a general request to the whole forum, that we make an effort to leave the politics regarding the virus to the politics thread.

This crisis is a worldwide crisis that is going to impact all of us on the planet. It is a serious issue and for the purposes of sensible discussion can we push the political discussion to the politics thread.

When it comes to the political decisions around this crisis, it is a Rorschach test. Like ever Rorschach Test, some see a butterfly, some see a vagina.

Yeah, their testing numbers have been atrocious, under that of NSW alone recently and that's in a country closer to three times the population of our nation. They are in likely in big trouble.

As for our testing numbers, upon hearing direct numbers from Greg Hunt, I must admit to having been a little harsh in my criticism, but sadly, I don't trust much at all coming from our PM.

It’s impossible to leave politics out of it when you look at how world leaders have handled the crisis. Like it or not, it’s part of the conversation because it’s impacting our lives.

Still seeing people not accept responsibility as if this virus will only somehow affect small African children, I don’t want to get political - but nuts to think that it isn’t a huge factor here +globalisation

A couple of points:-

* This virus is highly contagious and it appears really hard to stop - the whole world has basically failed in stopping the spread of this virus.
* I think the impact of this virus on each country will come down to the population demographics, the quality of each countries health systems and the ability of each countries citizens to be socially responsible or the governments of those countries to control how citizens react.
* China allowing those wet markets to exist is as bad as it gets. It's not something done on purpose but it's wrong on so many levels and via incompetence and lack of care it's completely criminal.
* Human society should have been much more aware of a situation like this developing and we should have prepared a lot better. People have been warning us about the potential of something like this occurring for a long time.

Personally I'd love this to be a human problem rather than a Chinese problem which to me completely misses the point. I don't want to call this a mild virus when lots of people will die so maybe a better way to phrase it is that this virus could be a lot worse. Our societies simply aren't prepared to deal with viruses like this.
