Wow did I stumble upon the politics thread? Or the tin hat thread??
BTW, the clotting that can be attributed to the AZ is not the same as clotting issues that people such as members of my family take blood thinners to deal with.
It's been stated by physicians that if you are on thinners it does not make you more susceptible to clotting... and, it has always been speculated that booster immunization will be required annually for Covid. To deal with variants.
Also has been stated that Covids evolve very slowly and immunizations can be effective to a high percentage for long periods.
I encourage everyone to only take on board the advice that is published by the government health websites or comes directly from the mouths of people involved in these organisations, not social media - which includes this forum.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to my 2nd AZ jab in around a month. Right now I'm off to read about footy somewhere else, be healthy and enjoy the rest of the weekend NRL!
After reading @Tiger5150 really sensible posts re 'signing suggestions etc' yesterday, then reading his posts on this thread, I've re thunk my thinking re Covid... @barra .
I had my 1st AZ jab late May.
On a % scale I reckon my life satisfaction so far would be approx 30% [boohoohoo 😢 I hear you say ].
I'm 74 yoa 😱lder_man: .
I'm just about to purchase a VW Transit 4 Motion to have it converted to a camper van.
Due to Covid I may have to wait 12 months for delivery of my VW.
Until I take delivery I will be living in a tent [Oh boohoohoo 😢 I hear again]
When I eventually take delivery I will be doing a lap of the block, by myself, as my wife isn't interested, so it will be my forever permanent home.
Travelling Ozzzzzzz will be the highlight of my life and I dont want to fall of the perch before I have achieved that.
I currently live in a small town in the Upper Hunter, so not many people, and I dont go into Taree/Forster very often to shop.
My point is>>>I now feel more confident in staying alive by being careful, wearing a mask and hand washing etc. than having my 2nd jab, as it would be just my luck to get a serious side effect from the 2nd vax, and there goes my dream.
Woah woah woah .........
You should NOT be determining your health decisions from somebody on a footy forum. The fact that Ive followed Balmain/Wests Tigers for nearly 50 years should be enough to question my intelligence and reliability.
You are correct that I have posted regularly here raising concerns about the vaccines and spruiking Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective). As I have stated I have a scientific background and put a lot of merit in actual peer reviewed scientific data. I have been pretty active posting stuff here raising questions and I have genuinely been concerned about the suppression of information about Ivermectin (a drug which the clinical evidence shows is not statistically effective) and also the suppression of information about the negative aspects of the vaccines. My concerns about the the basis of the suppression is probably greater than my concerns about the vaccines.
Let me stress again you should not make decisions about the vaccines or your health from me or anyone else on the forum, but since you have raised it, let me tell you what I think because I think it ties in with where you are.
I have made a big deal of the concerns about the vaccine, but if Im honest, it is probably most likely that I will end up getting it, but Im still not sure. The reasons I am hesitant revolves around the toxicity of the spike protein and the fact that the lipid nano particles that house the spike protein migrate throughout the whole body. Why I raise this is that this is more of a concern for younger people than older people. It is MUCH less of a concern for older people (less likely to contribute to clotting and also less of a risk of latency for cancer etc).
Long story short (TLDR) at your age you are actually at less risk of adverse reactions and also since you have already had one shot, the next shot is unlikely to add much to your risk.
DO NOT TAKE ADVICE ON SOMETHING AS IMPORTANT AS THIS FROM ME OR ANYONE ELSE ON THE FORUM, but I think you should get the second shot.
