https://knoema.com/atlas/Sweden/Death-rate

9.1 per 1000 in 2020
9.1 per 1000 in 2019
9.2 per 1000 in 2018
9.7 per 1000 in 2010

No extra deaths in the death rate

What has Sweden got to do with Australia?

There death rate with Covid in 2020 and there death rates from other years without lockdowns

That is a misuse of data.

How ?

The link you posted earlier was 7 months old and didn't capture Sweden's second wave.

Because it is an over simplification, for example did you investigate if any causes of death declined due to less mobility?

@Radoush - did you read my post above where I showed how the number of deaths increased in 2020 within Sweeden. This is in the context of a falling mortality rate.

I'll post it again:-

2020:- 97,941
2019:- 88,766

https://www.statista.com/statistics/525353/sweden-number-of-deaths/

Can you read that ? Is 97k more than 88k. Why did the number of deaths increase in 2020 ? I think it's definitely statistically relevant and even more so because the mortality rate in Sweeden has been decreasing year on year. If it wasn't COVID that led to a significant increase in the number of people dying what was it ?

Delta is jumping the Western Hwy recorded cases now in PARRA LGA .

do you reckon Parramatta lga will end up with restrictions like south West and cumberland

There will be tougher restrictions than are in place now announced shortly in those LGAs. That was hinted at on 9 this morning. Gladys looked a little frazzled this morning.

Lot of chest pumping on this thread ..
I’m guessing a lot of you aren’t essential workers ?

Everyone is an essential worker from the chippies to the barista to the nurse to the hairdresser it all forms part of the community civil unrest is starting and it's a dangerous think people are angry this won't end well

And image you have a family and bills to pay kids to feed and you can't go to work but your neighbours can how unfair is that and how angry will you become hits going to hit the fan
Pushing people and using the police to enforce it

Emergency works for tradies, such as busted tap, sewer, switch or lock, sure that stuff is essential, but that's about it and I am a builder. Coffee is about as essential as a spa treatment.

Probably the biggest problem is the inadequacy of the federal funding response, along with rent and loan measures, with current requirements the same as they were well over a year ago.

She could crash the economy and bring the house prices down by 50 percent that would be great for the younger generation

That stat has little relevance though because there are other factors that come into play. It is a misuse of data that is bordering on dishonesty.

It's already happening. I am aware of a 15% increase in house prices in my area since Apr 21.

The whole 'different restrictions for different postcodes' thing was proven not to work around 12 months ago with a less infectious variant.

I predict increased restrictions to 'greater' Sydney overall, and limits on travel to anywhere 'regional' after today's numbers.

It was mentioned this morning on 9 the Government may introduce tougher restrictions based on geographical location.

If this is still a problem at the next election I will vote for any local MP candidate that promises to blow the M4 bridge, Victoria Bridge, Bells Line of Road and Springwood Road if they are elected.

Greens, One Nation, Christian Democrats, Animal Justice Party... I don't care who. They will get my vote.

Gladys did look frazzled this morning, but also prior and not unexpected after being thrown under the bus, which she herself did to Dr Chant earlier in this. So good to see Kerry vibrant again after taking a stand with the "I didn't recommend stopping construction" answer and her body language has been confident since.

On the other hand, Gladys' words, eyes and body in answering a direct question yesterday, told us that the PM had earlier been pressuring her to keep the city open and she is not happy that his politically expedient 180 on lockdowns since has left her carrying the bag. Especially as the previous go to of "following the medical advice" rug has been ripped from beneath her feet.

The government turned off the $200 billion cheap funding for the banks off on the 30 of June alot of cash is getting parked back at the RBA inflation will rise and the RBA will lift rates to combat it if you are an heavily invested in housing think about pulling out rates will rise back up to historical rates of 6.5 percent plus all the lending the government is doing to pay for lockdowns Japan is buying alot of the deit at the moment and it all has to be paid back and when foreign lending cost goes up prices will drop fast and the futures market already has 6 rate hikes in the next 4 years and alot more to come
