Wow....I cant wait for my first shot in two weeks....:scream:

5 weeks and you can have a picnic with up to five members of your fully vaccinated household.

So the one member who isnt vaccinated has to be segregated from their family function because thats what the police state expects....so much for peoples free choice....and Im not an anti vaxxer...just a person who thinks a person in this country has freedom of choice....

They do have freedom of choice, they chose not to be vaccinated.

So in saying that, they exercised their right of free choice but the Govt segregates them because they dont follow their rule....

Xi Ping at its best....

How is it different to people not being allowed to smoke in public places?

We know the hazzards of smoking,it has been proven over many, many tests and years....this vax is a medication to alliviate the severity of covid,if your vaxed you can still infect others and get sick from it...when we got vaxed against polio etc ,it was proven to stop the disease ...these mRna vaxes havent been 100 percent proven to stop infection as well as the effects after years of it being injected...
just saying not causing an argument...its my opinion and as far as I know Im still allowed that...

AZ could still be an option if your doctor agrees.

Exactly right FG,it is the vax of choice if I get the ultimatum of "no jab no job" which I hope it doesnt come to...
You and I have met and have had good conversations...your advice is to leave it up to my Dr which I want to do,especially that I have had a history of blood clotting...
you must understand my hesitation...it wasnt pleasant dealing with tests and blood thinners 3/4 times a week for 3/4 months...
Im not an anti vaxer...I just want to do whats right for me,as others have chosen to do the same for themselves...

I provided information cited from the Federal Health Department about a week ago outlining that your previous clotting issue was not a contraindication for receiving **either** of the available vaccines, yet you're still banging on about this.

Roll on the vaccine passports.

And who are you to say anything about me to be banging out about....your not my Doctor and dont know anything about me....you make your choice and I will make mine....And why dont you mind your own business until you do know my personal health record like my doctor does...but thanks for your scientific input...

You should speak to your doctor.

My concern is that your personal risk is so much higher if you aren't vaccinated. I honestly think anyone not getting vaccinated now is crazy simply due to the risk that you are taking on compared to the risk of getting vaccinated.

If you are a higher risk person there is probably more reason to get vaccinated. You will probably get COVID and the risk of blood clots from COVID would be significantly higher than blood clots from the vaccines.

If you speak to your doctor you may be able to find a way to manage the issue more closely.

I'm not even arguing against you having the right to make your decision. I understand that. It's more a health based decision and you want to make the right decision.

As do I ....I can read the news and watch interviews of people that have had it...

Then you must know that some of the long term effects include, heart damage, brain damage and liver damage.

As with drinking, smoking, drug taking....the regular flue kills as well.although this is a novel virus,at least they developed a flu vax over many years...

The drinking, smoking and drug taking are self inflicted, we reduce people's rights around areas of those actions that impact others. You can't drink drive for example.

I can as long as I stay under the limit...

And you can go to the park if you are vaccinated.

. . . . . . . and have a 1 hour picnic with fully vaccinated members of your family unless of course you are from an LGA of concern in which case you can go and get stuffed.

You don't understand the restrictions, the people in the LGAs of concern can go for 1 hour recreation (picnic) with members or your family. Outside the LGAs of concern people can meet up in groups of up to 5 for their recreation. In both situations all adults need to be vaccinated.

What a crap way to respond.
I actually can see logic in alot of your other responses but this one sucks on such a sensitive topic without having any clue at all what a person might be going through.

You do know because the government isn’t liable insurance wise for something going wrong alot of doctors won’t provide advice for people with certain pre existing issues right?

Now to pre meditate the next question see another doctor most people in this situation often see specialists and not the average walk in walk out doctor as well.

My Mrs old man has heart issue and is on blood thinners, no specialist or his doctor will say go for it. They won’t assure him he will be right or anything. They won’t comment on if he should get it when he asks. They also won’t say if he is better off taking a vaccine than he would be if he caught covid. It is alot of can’t comment etc. These people have saved his life numerous times, he sees them weekly - he is a bionic man after falling from a 30mtr high power pole. It’s 100% enter at your own risk. My mrs is high risk to alot of things due being allergic to alot of foods and medicines - again no one will clear her.

It isn’t black and white as you think and you need to consider for those people right now this situation sucks in alot of ways. Just be more considerate next time.

After the 13th if everyone is fully vaxxed, yes as long as you are not breaking alcohol consumption laws.

I accept it can be a sensitive topic and I don't think I offended him. If I offended you then maybe it is your fault for being offended.

Have you heard of a hypocrite. Go and look in a mirror and you'll see one. I was trying very hard to be considerate and if you were offended that isn't my fault.

My dad is on blood thinners. He is not well. He is getting old. He is a retired doctor but I assume he went to the doctor to ask their advice. He took the AZ vaccine ages ago.

If your doctor really says don't get vaccinated for some specific reason I understand that. I don't know your specific situation.

100% correct. The problem is @cochise is also correct. Why trust some random person on a footy website. Speak to your GP and as @Mighty_Tiger stated maybe even a specialist.

I can provide good info on here but it's just the health advice. For the average person and even health affected people the decision from a risk based approach atm is pretty clear cut hence the strong health advice. If my advice strays from the health advice or into edge case science then you would be mad to follow it.

He should follow the advice of his doctor, not some random on a footy website.

Earl is our resident GP

100% correct. The problem is @cochise is also correct. Why trust some random person on a footy website. Speak to your GP and as @Mighty_Tiger stated maybe even a specialist.

I can provide good info on here but it's just the health advice. For the average person and even health affected people the decision from a risk based approach atm is pretty clear cut hence the strong health advice. If my advice strays from the health advice or into edge case science then you would be mad to follow it.

So you are a GP?

No. Definitely not. I thought it was clear it was a joke.

I've stated multiple times go and speak to a GP. There is really good clear health advice plus there is also large chunks of data that is guiding the health advice and this is pretty clear for most people.

If though you have specific issues go and speak to your GP or specialist.

IT for a big bank. I work with data. I used to program but now I manage. It's nearly as easy as being a traddie.

Cool - it was a joke. Clearly a very good one.

Here is some info on COVID in relation to children.

https://www.smh.com.au/national/how-does-the-delta-variant-of-covid-19-affect-children-20210826-p58m1i.html

I've cherry picked two quotes.

This is on COVID:-

>The numbers tell the story. The United States, one of the hardest-hit countries, has recorded 623,985 deaths from COVID-19. Just 385 of those have been in people aged 17 or younger – 0.06 per cent of the total toll. Fewer than 30 children in the UK have died from COVID-19.

This is on COVID in relation to the Delta strain:-

>“In terms of ICU admission and deaths, there is no indication in the data,” says Professor Danchin. “We need to be calm. We don’t want parents panicking that there’s going to be a huge wave of serious illness in children.”
