These are the stats that I was pointing to. 5 deaths fully vaxed and many serious cases are not the numbers I expected from fully vaccinated individuals, we were told vaccination virtually eliminates getting very sick and considering Australia's relatively low case numbers this wouldn't conform to most people view of a high degree of protection sadly imo. AZ has also been responsible for 7 deaths and 10s of people seriously ill maybe permanently so just in Australia this year.

So can't see the issues some of you may have with my views. Unfortunately, vaxed or not doesn't seem I'm going to feel fully protected when things open hopefully.

And that to me is a failure, to think in this day and age with all the technology available we are walking around with masks like it's 1920.

Must add a death from Pfizer yesterday in NZ! Plus many severe reactive cases in this country.. not that reported as it does not meet the rhetoric!

These are the stats that I was pointing to. ***5 deaths fully vaxed*** and many serious cases are not the numbers I expected from fully vaccinated individuals, we were told vaccination virtually eliminates getting very sick and considering Australia's relatively low case numbers this wouldn't conform to most people view of a high degree of protection sadly imo. AZ has also been responsible for 7 deaths and 10s of people seriously ill maybe permanently so just in Australia this year.

5 deaths is totally misleading. All of them older than 70. Two over 90, one over 80. I dont think its unreasonable that if you are older than 90 that if you catch it you are in serious trouble regardless of vax. It also doesnt back up your claim that fully vaxxed people are in ICU (0%).

So can't see the issues some of you may have with my views.

I have no issues with anyones views if based on some reality. Your posts talk of fully vaxxed people in ICU, the data doesnt back it up. Personally when someone espouses an opinion and then doubles down in the face of contradicatory information, I then have a problem with it.

I mentioned ***hearing of*** people fully vaxed dying and read of people fully vaxed in icu. These stats are for before 14 August, things have moved on since. That was my claim and it has been backed up.

No your claim that people have died has been backed up, your claim of fully vaxxed in ICU has not been backed up by any data or information.

When you made these claims I didnt say you are full of it, I asked for information that confirms it. The deaths have been confirmed, the ICU has not (based on the information provided).

The fact that you keep saying that this claim has been backed up despite the fact that it hasnt, doesnt strengthen your integrity IMO.

What's over 70 got to do with it?

They are more at risk of dying? Pretty simple I would have thought.

And you reckon my views are not based on any reality.

I dont know if your views are based on reality, thats what Im trying to determine as we all should here. To date I still havent seen any evidence that fully vaxed people are in ICU so your view that you may have heard isnt based on any data that I have seen.

>And I am sure I read of fully vaxed people in icu since August 14.

Im not questioning whether you heard it or believe it, Im asking for information that indicates its real.

What contradictory information?

You are stating that fully vaxed people are in ICU, the information provided and that you say "backs you up", ***contradicts*** you.

As I said I was questioned for bringing up double vaxed deaths and now get told well their over 70 anyway. That's the vulnerable age,

And?

Yes we questioned you when you raised double vaxxed deaths and the information came up that this is true. When you originally posted this, it was in the context that this information (fully vaxxed deaths and ICU) was causing confusion regarding vaccine uptake. I'd put it to you that the fact that all of the 5 deaths are 70+, 3 are 80+ and 2 90+ is important contextual information in making that decision regarding vaccination. If anyone is going to die after contracting COVID double vaxxed a 90yo is obviously more likely.

Serious question.

Why is this double standards? If I can walk up to my local park, if my local park is a beach, why would it be a double standard to be on the beach? Or on a SUP for that matter? Probably the safest place in Sydney out on the water.

Without going through the picture in great detail the first thing i noticed is that there are three board riders paddling together. You are only allowed to gather in groups of two. The second thing I saw is someone is in swimmers on a towel or blanket on the rocks, and it looks like they are eating something, I’d hardly call that hardly exercising. Where is the outrage for these breaches of public health orders?

What if one of the paddlers is a child of the other 2..

nearly everyday I read someone single or ***double vaccinated has died*** in Sydney

Any reports to back this up?

No. It's absolutely misinformation. The rest was inaccurate dribble too.

Thanks for finding the reports to back this up mate.
Misinformation yeah right.
Inaccurate dribble?

Yes. Funny how you can't back up anything you've claimed or cite even a single article when taken to task on outrageous and false claims because you 'can't remember'.

Yet you claim to be reading about someone dying 'nearly everyday' (sic).

Muppet.

Spot on mate. They're not really together anyway. The person on the rocks might have just finished a swim and is sitting having a protein bar. But I'm sure the guy in the hat on the rocks is a Russian spy carrying secrets of Australia's nuclear missile program.

Where is this btw

Shelley Beach, there used to be a restaraunt on the end overlooking the beach.I dont know if it is still there as i havent been there for nearly 40 years. From memory the restaurant used to be ran by an ex footballer called Alan Madallena.Food was excellent.
If i am wrong please correct me

The restaurant that's still in the same spot is now called The Boathouse Shelly Beach, but is c;losed atm because ov Covid.

"CURRENT TRADING

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, The Boathouse Shelly Beach is now closed as a temporary measure. Thank you for your ongoing support, it has meant a lot during these challenging times. We hope to see you all again soon!"

It’s funny how people can make excuses for breaches when it’s the northern beaches that are involved.

I'm not going to address your views specifically, let's just look at the actual figures comparing COVID risk vs Vaccine risk.

COVID:
56,212 cases - 1002 deaths
You have a 1 in 56 chance of dying if you get COVID (for the record, you have a 1 in 400 chance of getting COVID)

Vaccination
18,900,000 doses given - 7 deaths
You have a 1 in 2,700,000 chance of dying if you get the vaccine

I'm not a betting man but those odds speak volumes.

Unfortunately, vaxed or not doesn't seem I'm going to feel fully protected when things open hopefully.
And that to me is a failure, to think in this day and age with all the technology available we are walking around with masks like it's 1920.

It's not a failure. If you expect every medical procedure to be 100% effective you're living in a fantasy land. Did you know 1 in 200,000 people will die from anaesthesia this year. 20 will die from Panadol.

Ask yourself this, if you got cancer, would you take the chemo if it wasn't 100% guaranteed? Would you take a Panadol for a headache?

You're trying to convince yourself there's a reason not to get a vaccine. You're crying out for things to open up but are standing in the way of the door. Be part of the solution not part of the problem.

It's simple, if you don't wanna get vaccinated don't expect the same privileges as the Vaxxed when we open back up again.

Lol, have to sit at the back of the bus eh?

Not sure how one could enforce this.

In the US they make much more use of "fast antigen testing" and to attend some events you need to take one of these tests which takes about 15mins. Not sure of the cost or accuracy and havent seen it here although it is part of the new construction laws here.

In the US some events are a combination of Vaxxed only or pass the fast antigen test. Could imagine that becoming part of the protocol here.

If businesses want to prioritise the vaxxed then they will find a way. Most businesses don't wanna risk closing for 2 weeks and losing hundreds of thousands of dollars if not millions.

How far are you meaning to go with this? Denying jobs for non vax people? Getting a bit like the American south or Germany in the 30's. It's very dangerous as history shows when you say some people are more worthy than others.
I say this as someone who has had his first jab...waiting for the next. But as a lover of history nothing good has ever come from discrimination of any form.

Do you think it'd be the working man that is the one that isn't vaxed?

My work said it's moving towards mandatory and I assume other places would be the same.

Litigation is the issue for businesses in the future as with individuals as they also have a Duty of Care ! Lawyers are the winners in the near future!
