Could a performance like that influence a player to stay?

I think this performance could change things. To me Teddy is putting pressure on the club to build and have stability. Signing Cleary does that. It also shows teddy that Cleary can turn this team around and with the addition of a few players we can be very competitive. If they havent already signed and we back it up next week i reckon it will be very hard for Teddy to leave.

Its not backing out of a contract if the contract permits that mate.

We dont have different values. I dont believe in breakig contracts but I also dont believe in criticising someone for exercising their contractual rights.

Agree with southern.
Similar clauses in buying property

Yep

A bit different , they need to be activated by something /reason

Can speak from experience on this one , the bank (which bank ?) mistook / misunderstood some info we gave them in regards to an account and after agreeing to loan us the funds

We almost lost a $17 500 deposit because of it

Not in NSW mate. 10 day cooling off period applies but can be waived, as it is when purchasing by auction.

Cant speak about your laws (or lack of them) north of the border

Last thing that I will say on this subject is that I don't need a "cooling off" period to think about whether I did the right thing or not. I do all my hard thinking and background checks before I sign a contract, not after.

Firstly it wasnt that great of a performance… A definate improvement, but we need to do more if we want to sing the team song more weeks than not.

Contract negociations are about the long term. One win doesnt make a season, and I highly doubt the win had much to do with Cleary. It will take 5-6 weeks before we will see any influence Ivan has over the squad and I put Saturdays win down to attitude and energy. We needed a release and the Cows gave us that opportunity in the opening 10min that we capitalised on.

Teddys words in 'that' interview had alot of home truths in it... We are consistantly a poor club on and off the field. At some stage, they may need to be greedy to achieve the goals they have set as a rugby league professional.

Lets go to Parra this week and see if we can put the off-field stuff away for 80min!

Agree which makes it difficult to understand all the negative sentiment toward them.
Will be glad for a result, and if it was an easy one they would have been long gone
There has to be a better way for the NRL to implement standards for contractual negotiations. The current system is at odds with what happens on the field.
More talk about who is going where, and for how much, instead of talking about the game.

Mate we were at the stage of getting a second (bogus )opinion from a pest control bloke I knew from the local golf club until the bank finally came to the party

Not that it matters atm , the land has devalued 55% in 18 months and we have received three valuations in that time

3 years ago it was worth almost triple what we had paid for it

The contracts aren't one page easy to read contracts,

The 10 day cooling off period is so the club can get a signature on the dotted line and not need to have a lawyer look over it before hand. It's easier to get someone to sign something if they know they can back out of it. Then once the player signs his name name he has subconsciously made that decision. It happens in most sales, .. " if you change your mind you can just bring it back in 30 days!" In reality people just buy it because it seems less risky, the reality being most people don't return it when the get it all the way home and the sales people know it.

True, it may not have been a skillfull footballing performance by our guys but it was certainly a gutsy one. The way things panned out, with the amount of early dropped ball and penalty count etc in the second half, that type of pressure and lack of game control would usually add up to a heavy loss for us. But we hung tough and turned up with aggression and courage repeatedly - that to me was the most important thing about the win. As to whether it would affect the decisions of Woodsy and Teddy.. I think that it might especially if they are still undecided and weighing things up.
In my mind we had already lost Teddy (Roosters) but that win has made me reconsider - maybe not, so hopefully it's made him do the same.
