Could a performance like that influence a player to stay?

Horses bolted, but don't despair when you see a no9 who is on basic money give so much, I really don't care where the fat contract boys go, there will be other kids who are jumping a the bit to get a go. What did our great coach say.. its all about the team

This!

I will take a team of scrubbers with fire in their belly over a couple of superstars anytime.

Nope

Go to the game mate

Hope you didn't listen to dopey Happy

Yeah i went. Reasonably happy i suppose. Good to win but pretty much reserve grade standard game. Pretty disillusioned with the game to be honest. If i had my time over would have selected option A.

A few like that might , but they would also realize the Cowbees were pretty bad tonight

I was waiting for this one - we weren't much better in the handling department, had less penalties - maybe the myth of the cowboys being a strong side has been exposed.

The way both teams mishandled the ball I was wondering if it was sweaty or slimy?

I just hope all the players realise they can give any team a run for their money IF they play as a team and scramble like they did in defence tonight. They got the basics right, ran hard, had players supporting one another, kicked and chased well and completed their sets. Do that every week and they'll win more than they lose.

Yeah I agree with striker that it was a poor quality game, but we come away with two points. Either way you'd like to hope that all this contacts stuff is over with by end of month IMO.

You'd think it would have to put a more positive spin on things for them, maybe with a good week at training and a win against the Eels might get things rolling along

A great first 20 minutes but was flat after that. At least we worked better in defence than usual.
Apart from Taumololo and Hess. the Cows , were substandard including Thurston.
We needed the win , but I don't think that Cleary would have been too excited by it. The second half had the worst handling that I've seen in a while. The only thing to keep anyone interested in the game was to see if anyone could actually hold the ball for 6 tackles.
Better than a loss though. The first 20 minutes could win us a lot of games, but we drop off so badly that we're never safe.

I'm hoping a performance like last nights will influence a couple of our unsigned stars but i do have a sneaky suspicion it could be a lets turn up and play out of our skins now and tell the world a big eff you for putting all that pressure on us and writing all those garbage stories in the media day after day.

If Jack little John didn't play tonight the cowboys win Brooksy would have got Terrorised Jack got bumped off sometimes but he saved the day heaps and he makes a good first contact we seem to play better with him in the team

I'm with you supercoach. I've never been so animated during a game and I'm a lunatic. I told the kids,I don't care if they all leave, support the badge and the colours. If Teddy and Woods go,so be it. It was only one game, but if Cleary has the ability to get players to produce efforts like that,we're in good shape.

Yep, if you look at the stats they say we should've lost, they had us beaten in almost all departments except for line breaks and of course, try's (we did however make less errors, although you would've thought this to be fairly even watching the game, with us giving up possession at some critical moments). The sign of a good effort I think, and our defence was great to watch - won us the game.

I think it could influence Teddy, but not Woods. Watching players demeanour tonight and in interviews during the last 2 weeks I feel Teddy is looking for excuses to stay. I can't get a read on Woods though, he looks completely disinterested but I guess that's the way he's always been..

1st half the Cowbees had completed 18/21 and we had 19/22 I believe

The Cowboys ruck defence was shocking

9-2 penalty count we had to overcome

If decisions haven't been made…. Or even if they have... I cant see why something like last night couldn't influence one decision

Wins at crucial times in negotiations are important especially road trips where teams often go into camp.
Bonding, belief and focus on each other often overpowers the dark thoughts of wanting out.

We won, had some fight, at the end of the game it was clear Teddy was over the moon and running around the team mates enjoying it. Woods on the other hand….horse has bolted by the looks of it.

Woodsie looked pretty happy during and after the team song…if that is any indicator.
Truth be known it seems that player friendships cross over all clubs these days makes it much easier for them to move on than it is for fans to let go. Its the not knowing that is most frustrating
