Could Bulldogs Game Be a Watershed Moment?

What impressed me was the defence. We were really hitting hard and bending them back in the tackles. They have a solid pack and our forwards took it to them. We need to do the same against Penriff. If we limit their go forward Cleary will find it a lot harder to shine.

If you ask most supporters they were not as confident going into the game, however we have had an attitude adjustment since the loss to to the Titans.
We have won 4 games this year - Dragons, Sharks,Cowboys,Bulldogs.
These are all bottom 8 teams until we start winning against the Top 8 teams l can't say that its a watershed moment.
We have certainly improved with an 80 minute performance but we have to remember they lost there best player early.
Will be a good test against the Panthers to see where we are at against better opposition that do play for 80 minutes.
If we win against them it will instill more confidence in the Team and cement us firmly in the 8 remembering our draw at the back end of the season is against all quality opposition.

The Penrith game will be interesting. One advantage we have over them is that they concede more "6 agains" than any other team. Should allow us to build some pressure in attack. And we have shown we can ask a lot of questions of the opposition defence with the ball in hand. We will need to - Penrith's defence is first rate.
I don't see us winning this one, but I look forward to seeing if we are at least competitive.

Surely WT must be close behind them in the tackle count restarting department? Also looking forward to the game and hoping Mikaele is clear to play.

It was a good test for them, they lost but they didn’t loose their spirits. If we come out of it similar I’d say that will be a huge indication of moving into a successful era. We did face the raiders just earlier and kept them to 2 try’s. I’m expecting something similar as a minimum against the Pennies.

Well said. I was asking whether people on here thought the Bulldogs game could be a watershed moment. In other words, was it a signal that we that we can maintain the intensity well enough to make the semis this year. When we inevitably lose games, will it be due to a gap in class or a gap in commitment? I was brave and thought I saw enough to predict the former. We shall see.

I agree with your thoughts @Needaname. We had what should have been a perfect start to this year.
Playing against mainly lower placed teams than Us....apart from the Raiders, gave Us an opportunity to get into a confident and winning state of mind before we hit the gun teams, but we blew it.
But that doesn't matter now as thats in the past and we cant undo it.
We achieved the standard of 'Madge's plan' with our past two wins though, and we are well and truly back on track for a cracking game against 'Voldemort and the Chinruff' (does that sound like it could be a name for a heavy metal pop group) next weekend.
And we will beat the buggers if we reproduce the form from last weekend.
