Could we be making way for a big name player?

The seasons 2010, 2011 when we managed to get in to the finals, who was our half back !! Coach Sheens at that time had great faith in Robert Lui, would it be worth giving him another go if he were available, because our main problem as I see it is the halves, and awful defence of course !

I don't want lui back. I was proud that the club ( eventually) did the right thing and got rid of him. I don't like what he represents and it's disappointing that people have forgotten he attacked a women. Twice. Second time being pregnant. He is a low life and should of been banned from RL for good. If the same people that stopped mason coming allowed even talk of lui coming back then the club is a joke.

Only big name i'd be looking at is Jennings. Yes, he's had an attitude problem but in a new enviroment, he might just wise up. Also good mates with Farah. With Beau gone there is now room. His price tag might be an issue but our centre combination is not concrete right now. Ayshford went backwards this year.

Jennings is not going to help the overall team performance (IMHO anyway)… We need another good prop and someone to play halfback who isn't Braith Anasta.

The difference from 2011 to 2012 was that in 2011 both Robbie Farah and Keith Galloway played almost full seasons in 2011 and we won 60% of games. When they played in 2012 we won over 60% of games (no matter who was in the halves with benji). When they didn't play we didnt win. You can't have better back up for Farah because he is a star and without thier best player any team looses. You can have better back up for Galloway and it was where we were let down in 2012\. For 2013 we are attemting to sign Brent Kite and Masoe Masoe and also improving our young props. Problem solved. We will have Anasta/ Sironen in the halves with benji which will make us play better when either Benji or Robbie are missing but if those 2 stay fit we will be back in the top 4 next year.

Our depth issues were the havles - where we have signed Braith Anasta and in the front row where we will sign Kite and Masoe and we have brought in some really solid backrowers in Pettybourne and Thompson to improve our Bench

I think you're mostly right boonboon (not totally sold on Anasta as a 7 but agree it will help Marshall) - I don't disagree with a player turnover, it is more the way it is being handled that bothers me. Someone like Chris Heighington surely deserved to be told in June or July rather than being hawked around in September.

Agree Yoss he definatly should of been. However to an extent he must have seen the writing on the wall for the end of next year given we had already shopped him around last year. He really couldn't have been expecting we would have offered him 2 more year after next year. However I agree it should have been done from a personal point of view earlier although I guess he did get to celebrate his 200th game and run out first at his last game a Leichardt (a few on here actually mentioned mayby he is leaving because he ran out first with gareth)

thinking about this…Heino played that game against the Storm like it was his last game..was the only one still trying at the end.

I'm enjoying your positive insights into the current situations Boonboon.

Some people may call it delusional thinking, head in the sand stuff - but one thing i am certain about is that whether i am bitching & moaning or drifting in the clouds on unrealistic optimism, it will have zero effect on what happens at WT.

All it will change is my mood & after a near year of pain its time to get high on the dreams of good times ahead.

So shoot me up into the sky Boonboon!

I agree, we should be looking at a halfback and 2 props (Kite plus one other).

I just asked this question to 2 media people on twitter and they both came back with the same answer. Braith Anasta. Which makes me think we paid overs for him.

im pretty sure ive read somewhere we paid 200.000k for anasta?

Correct, and Sheens himself stated that Braith was very reasonable in his requested wage over the next couple of years. Considering his commitments with Fox Sports calling the NYC games (which he is quite good at), I think he was happy for a change of scenery and to get away from Brian Smith. I am sure he is not struggling for a quid.

Braith will look good in sky blue.

Reckon Braith will give the structure that the team lacks at halfback right now. Benji is, quite obviously, the playmaker- but Braith will be the one directing traffic. Having young Sirro learn off him is a bonus- the transition in a year or two should be seamless.

I really hope you're right, and this pays off. I'll have my fingers crossed in march that we've finally got the halves pairing sorted.

Could not agree more!!!

So sick of people discussing the Lui's position as if it is only a football related matter and the fact that the Tigers struggled at the half-back position since he left is the only issue that needs to be considered when considering his return.

True, but it would be nice to have a bit more blistering pace in the back line  I'd forgotten all about Jennings!
