What i meant was he was given that season in QLD Cup before playing in the NRL… Its to big a step imo for halfs to jump from...

Agree. A year against the men is beneficial.

Id prefer a year of each, but seems they are fast tracking the kid, probably a smart move.

Have to wonder that even if he is overwhelmed and plays at half his ability, he would still benefit the side on a night like tonight.

I also don't see how Tedesco would be far away from 1st grade either at this point.

His kicking game alone would make a world of difference. He has the sort of kicking game that can turn matches and can be relied upon. Long and short. If he was made to play an Adam Reynolds type role it could be crucial for us. After one round I kind of fail to see what Miller offers that Brooks wouldn't. Brooks is a superior general kicker and it's not like Miller is being allowed to use his superior experience or whatever other things he has over Brooks anyway.

Does anybody who is a good judge of a footballer think Miller is better than Brooks? Right now. 1v1\. Not in the future or by potential or at the same age or whatever.

Was listening to potter on MMM last night and joey asked him if he was tempted to give brooks a shot. Potter said yes but basically not sure when

SO WE DO THE SAME AS LAST YEAR WASTE WEEKS, WITH MILLER THEN WHEN THAT DOES NOT WORK WE THROUGH IN BROOKS THEN. BY THIS TIME WE ARE BOTTOM OF THE LADDER.

SORRY ABOUT THE CAPITALS BUT IT WAS ON BEFORE , I NOTICED AND I AM NOT REWRITING IT.

Have to agree with caps man. We mention to give him time, but at what point do you concede defeat? Do we write off 2013 and say whenever we look even more deflated that we again change? Stick with Miller or don't. Give Brooks a run at the end of the year when our season is decided. Not as a knee jerk reaction to a terrible mid season.

To be honest I won't be surprised if we see a Benji/Sirro halves combo by round 8 or 9 if Miller doesn't improve.

You're right I think willow - looks like Marshall won't give up the role to any halfback.
Farah even jumped in on plenty of occasions so he too must have felt Miller wasn't coping.
If Tedesco comes through the future could also be Marshall half and Moltzen 5/8.
Glad I'm not Potter today.

Brooks looks more likely today than yesterday.

Not a day for halfbacks to shine, and im not going to bin him on that, but not his best game.

I for one don't want to give up on Miller just yet. Moltzen to half is not a great idea as both him and Benji have pathetic general kicking games. Luke Brooks has the game and looks likely as our long term #7 but I would not like to rush him this year.

I would even take Lui back for this year. Yes his off field stuff is disgusting but if he is allowed to play by the NRL why not give him a chance to redeem himself. He is much better #7 than Moltzen or Miller and I don't think the Cowboys need him this year.

He defends even worse than Miller - would have been 100 points!
I think Potter will give Miller another go … and it's up to him not to waste the opportunity.

nobody is gonna pass it to him on the 5th to get a kick away, miller was a very good short kicker as well but he wasnt allowed to kick at all and hes the halfback :crazy

Lets wait and see how Miller goes when our forwards have a go and make some metres. There's not a half thats played the game that could make an impact with forwards going backwards and having only 37% possession!

but there are halves that could have had an impact when we are up 18-0 at 40min and beating inferior teams like the Panthers at home. And there are halves that could have an impact after TWO reserve grade games in which we do have a solid forward pack.

Miller hasnt done any of this, he was alright in one of his 5 games but that's only by HIS standards. Two coaches have now dropped him, let's sell him to the Dragons and wait for them to drop him.

so what actually makes brooks the answer.
same thread was made for miller before he played first grade while lui was here.

what is he doing differently from what miller was doing in u/20's.

Dunno Bon

Admittedly I dont see a lot of the 20s when I go….I saw him crack a little in a pressure situation last night with a poor kick with tackles up his sleeve and little time while 2 points behind.

Good passing game, good kicking - mostly....I dont see him run much when I have seen him play. His defense is OK I guess....not great not terrible
