Countdown to Season 25

usually I'm all for building combos in the trials, but I really want to see our key players wrapped up in cotton wool during February.

it's our best chance at making the playoffs in years and we need everyone fit and healthy. given Bula's still rehabbing his shoulder I think he won't play, but ideally I only want to see our first grade side get 35 minutes in the second trial.
Absolutely. It’s a long season and if you’re good enough you should be able to win 50% of your games. Trials are a waste.

televised trial games are all about foxtel , impatient voyeurs n old ,super league dollars. Clubs sold their souls for the club grants and trial games were some of the first conditions they rolled over on,.Not radio ,,tv Danial Anderson was coach of roosters and ran about 60 players out during the game at blue tounge stadium. Funny fact is that is the 1st memory i have of 3 defenders in a tackle ,Anderson got ragged out n ? Yet 2 ,3 years later a 3 man tackle on 1 was the norm

In terms of anticipation, this will be at its highest since 2018 when Teddy et al left and we hired Reynolds, Packer, Matulino

2012- Premiership favourites with Adam Blair signing is probably the most excited I had ever been for NRL to start.

NRL tends to lag behind NFL in innovation. Several top coaches don’t play their main starters in the NFL pre-season. I think this will eventually happen in NRL too.
You cannot compare the two. In any way whatsoever….
There are NFL players who rarely ever get tackled all season.
There are others who rarely ever make a tackle.
Whenever any of them do anything, the game stops so they can all catch their breath.
The trials aid not only aerobic fitness, but match fitness i.e. getting hit under full playing conditions. Combinations, timing, putting practice into reality….
The NRL has very little to learn from such an alien game as NFL.

In both games - there is all always one winner - how is it possible St. George can win 11 or 12 grand finals in a row - follow the money... Vegas anyone?
