Countdown to Season 25

Watched an interview with Bronson Xerri and he mentioned the fitness that the Dogs had last year was a driving factor in their defensive structure and line speed. This is where I hope we have improved this coming season as I spoke to Shawn Blores brother and he said Shawn was shocked how unfit he was compared to the Storm players when he arrived and he was a strong trainer at the Tigers. Stephano has also mentioned it in a recent interview that it is different to what he had with us. I hope our strength and conditioning is up on last year and that will go a long way to seeing improvement in the close games we lost last year.

I guess we will see in a few weeks if they have improved

I've said it 100 times.

Fitness for Athletes/ NRL players is indicative of self discipline and competitive nature.

Number 1 indicator used by Penerith in recruitment.

Yesterday on SEN 1170, Scott Sattler said the Tigers were amazed at the standards set by Jerome Luai.

The fact this is a surprise is atrocious

The tigers have been soft for ever and this is why we attracted garbage players and played lazy and Soft.

No more fade outs.

Bronson Xerri is very close to the player I mentioned on here weeks and weeks ago who joined the club this year and said the training was a walk in the park

Fitness is one thing but I’d guess that the competitiveness at training would be the biggest change to the status quo

It fair dinkum makes me very angry, when I hear players say our training is a walk in the park. Fitness, like turning up on time, takes no talent, and when you are the least talented you would think you would be the best at the areas that take none to be good at? 🤷‍♂️
And to hear it again this year with Benji in charge, who was here when we were the fittest team in the comp thanks to Steve Folkes, is really annoying me.

The results say it all.

I dont think its a surprise to anyone even Blind Freddy that the Tigers have been well below par with team fitness for a decade + and its the joke of the league that the Tigers can only play 50mins of football a week.

From the opening minutes its obvious the lack of intensity, soft tackling and speed. Across the entire stretch of the game its a problem with leg drive, defence line speed, inability to make breaks, hands on hips from the opening sets, heads down at the 20min mark, inability to dig deep at the back end of games.

They showed they can play when they are up for it in the Cronulla win, 1 or 2 good efforts and they just fade away for weeks, it's so disappointing if fitness doesn't improve this year I will be cranky.
