Countdown to Season 25

If last night's first game of the year between 2 almost full strength NRL teams is anything to go by it'll be a long season.
4 hit ups, a pre-planned attacking play (regardless of what the defence is doing) and a kick until one team mentally cracks.
All the fun has been coached out of the game. It was watching the grass grow, uninspired, absolute dross.

Rugby league used to be like playing pinball. No matter how good you get at the fundamentals every game is different and unpredictable.
Now it's a video game, you learn the patterns and strategies of the game and every game's the same until someone makes a mistake.
This sport is crying out for a coach who thinks differently and can pull it off successfully.

So after an influx of Australian coaches into Super League over recent years this morning we have a nil all draw at full time between Wigan and Leigh in perfect weather conditions.
The robot virus has spread to England.
Absolutely zero creative football was played in this game.

So true but the new approach will work for a couple of seasons then the opposition coaching think tanks will work out a way to neutralize it and the boring old video game patterns returns again.
