Part of the problem is that all coaches have to go through the same system to get accredited. They all learn the same way but the game only allows for small tweaks. Seems that the NRL don’t want any radical coaching ideas !Rugby league used to be like playing pinball. No matter how good you get at the fundamentals every game is different and unpredictable.
Now it's a video game, you learn the patterns and strategies of the game and every game's the same until someone makes a mistake.
This sport is crying out for a coach who thinks differently and can pull it off successfully.
