Crazy, desperate idea: how about trading Blair for Sandow?

So, at first it may seem a silly idea, but I think Sandow could perform well with us, and I think Parra would be a willing trading partner for Blair. There is no way they can continue to 'develop' a side around Sandow, when he isn't the sort of halfback that can hold a backline together, so they need to find a club that can take him. And who would take Sandow on that money?

Both players were massive mistakes for each club and are on similar years and wages. I think both clubs would love to get out of their contractual obligations, but neither club is going to be able to dump the contracts anywhere. However, I think Blair would be better at Parra and Sandow would be alright for us.

I imagine Sandow would play a Lui like halfback role for us. He can kick and create and having an attacking option like Marshall outside him will create space for him. Like Lui, he wouldn't play a traditional organising half-back role for use. His problem at Parra is that he is an ad-lib player being asked to play an organising role on a side bereft of talent. Like it or not, with Marshall and Farah on our side, we are never going to have the attacking structure of a Melbourne side. Thus, a player like Sandow doesn't have to organise and play disciplined for us. Like Lui, he is a liability in defense, but then so is Blair.

In an ideal world, I wouldn't purchase Sandow for the money Parra is paying him. But, I'd definitely prefer to pay him if it was a choice between Blair and Sandow. Thus, I think a trade with Parra would improve a bad situation for both clubs.

For Parra, they get a 80min backrower and they get rid of a contract that must be absolutely killing their ability to improve their side.

What do people think? I suggest this idea even though it is highly unlikely because it is much better than thinking about the club's actual on-field performances (particularly Blair's).

Yeah pretty good idea to be honest, only problem is we have Anasta as well as Brooks coming through. But I'd rather have Sandow than a turnstile wearing 13.

Saw potter at the NSW Cup game dunno if he always turns up or if he wanted to get a look at Big T, Brooks and Groat.

Does anyone think this is realistic. There aren't many halfs around ATM.

We have no chance of a swap

I have got a better idea..Blair AND Marshall for Sandow. 6\. Brooks 7\. Sandow and I am happy.

Not a bad idea tbh. But it will never happen. Stuart can handle lack of talent but not lack of heart or being lazy so that's why he'd never take Blair.

Ok, problem with this suggestion is the following:

1\. We have one of the worst defenders in the competition with Benji;
2\. Sandow is the worst defensive player in the comp;
3\. Stick the two together and you have free entry to the Wests Tigers tryline.

Sorry to burst your bubbly Willow but stats prove that Blair is a worse defender than Sandow and numbers don't lie.

Why dont we just go for Cronk, Tamou gallen Hodges and L.Lewis?
Just as realistic

Because I don't think Sandow is wanted at Parra. Whereas Cronk, Tamou, Gallen, Hodges and Lewis are all coveted by their clubs. Sandow's poor performances and big salary make him different from the players you mentioned. I think Parra would prefer to build a side around a different sort of half and that he is more a burden to their plans than a cornerstone to them.

Just what are these stats you speak of?

Why is every second thread about getting rid of Blair? If you look at the stats from friday he is not the only one who had crappy stats, only Woods can hold his head up high.I know people are frustrated but all the Blair bashing is getting boring.When he is the only one running 40 metres and making 20 tackles and everyone else is making a 100m and 40 tackles then he will be due his criticism but at the moment he isn't our biggest problem.

Why is every second thread in the contract section always based on hypothetical fantasies

Cause the reality of our recruitment & retention is rather droll, dreary and humdrum

The same reason married people have affairs

Last time I checked RLW Sandow was leading the missed tackles. Blair wasn't far behind though so the role could have changed. Either way Sandow can't tackle.

What you have to do to make a proper comparison BM96 is turn it into a percentage

Blair makes far more tackles than Sandow does so his tackle completion rate will be far worse

Most NRL players are wanting somewhere between 90 -95%

You know things are bad when everyone starts entertaining the idea of having Sandow in their team lol. It would just be swapping one dud buy for another, imo.
