The only players from Dogs game that deserve to be there next week:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Koroibete
3\. Reddy
4.
5.
6\. Sironen but at lock
7.
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Buchanan
11.
12.
13.

14.
15.
16.
17\. Simona

The $64 million question is whether Potter has this week the intestinal fortitude to drop the slackers who played last Friday and replace them with genuine honest workers who have pride in their football. That is the crux of the matter.

A lot of gaps and no options really. Throw boys in and damage them? Or sack 2/3 of the top 25 and miss next season as well. I imagine both options are not seen as good by management

So, at first it may seem a silly idea, but I think Sandow could perform well with us, and I think Parra would be a willing trading partner for Blair. There is no way they can continue to 'develop' a side around Sandow, when he isn't the sort of halfback that can hold a backline together, so they need to find a club that can take him. And who would take Sandow on that money?

Both players were massive mistakes for each club and are on similar years and wages. I think both clubs would love to get out of their contractual obligations, but neither club is going to be able to dump the contracts anywhere. However, I think Blair would be better at Parra and Sandow would be alright for us.

I imagine Sandow would play a Lui like halfback role for us. He can kick and create and having an attacking option like Marshall outside him will create space for him. Like Lui, he wouldn't play a traditional organising half-back role for use. His problem at Parra is that he is an ad-lib player being asked to play an organising role on a side bereft of talent. Like it or not, with Marshall and Farah on our side, we are never going to have the attacking structure of a Melbourne side. Thus, a player like Sandow doesn't have to organise and play disciplined for us. Like Lui, he is a liability in defense, but then so is Blair.

In an ideal world, I wouldn't purchase Sandow for the money Parra is paying him. But, I'd definitely prefer to pay him if it was a choice between Blair and Sandow. Thus, I think a trade with Parra would improve a bad situation for both clubs.

For Parra, they get a 80min backrower and they get rid of a contract that must be absolutely killing their ability to improve their side.

What do people think? I suggest this idea even though it is highly unlikely because it is much better than thinking about the club's actual on-field performances (particularly Blair's).

Brooks will be a much better half than Sandow. This year is all about experiments and shuffling. Brooks & Benji 2014

Anyone suggesting signing Sandow needs only to watch the highlights from the Tigers v Eels game a few weeks ago and see him get owned twice by Lawrence … and you know how poor Lawrence had been going before he got injured .

I was reading that as trading Blair for sand….which would be good you can never have enough sand.

Blair for Sandow however NO.

I'd do it for no other reason then to kick Marshall's arse into gear. Imagine the hit to the ego, sure would be a hot topic for him to discuss on the Footy Show

I'm glad the OP acknowledged it for what it is: a crazy and desperate idea.

No thanks, simply drop the beggars and let the ego take the hit.

Why is every second thread about getting rid of Blair?

I know people are frustrated but all the Blair bashing is getting boring.

I would say the reason for it all, is because he is on 500k unlike many other younger forwards who aren't. They may not be pulling their weight but they're doing a better job for what they're getting paid.

Marginally, a dud's a dud whichever way you look at it.

i think the problem is the game has gone too professional and it is showing up the lack of talent across the whole nrl… both can play but when all the stars line up...

Obviously some clubs, usually the desperate ones, are spending big money to buy players on"spec'.

Blair for Sandow is just switching one lazy, overpaid player for another. At least with Blair he isn't playing one of the most important positions on the field. Souths never made the finals with Sandow, and Parramatta ran last with him.

He's our biggest paid problem, though.

The truth is Blair is a senior forward not a rookie. He has to lead the way in the forwards not just let the rookie forwards do the majority of the hard work. If and when he does decide too lead the way we our pack may finally show some go forward. The reponsibility for ensuring this gets into Blair's mind rests with Potter. For mine Potter does not show any urgency to attend to these matters (except when dealing with Miller)..

Blair led the kids around in the Storm game, the ability is there, but as was said previously Potter needs to tap into how to keep that fire burning.
