@Peaches said:Starc and Faulkner in for Khawaja and Bird. I don't think this batting line-up is strong enough to deal with the dropping of a specialist batsman for a bowling all-rounder.

That being said I think, if he improves his technique against pace, Steve Smith is a leader of the future. Plenty of leadership experiece already there for sixers and NSW and if he can retain his spot and actually post big scores then it is there for the taking
Otherwise we someone like a James Pattinson/Faulkner might be sensible given the plight of Aussie batting at the moment…

Steve Smith , you are kidding right
He doesn't command a spot as a batsman ,or as a bowler

I for one agree with Boof/Faulkner and hope the Australian public give it to this arrogant, smug bunch of wankers **(Broad being a standout)** from the word go. For mine watching us lose to these guys is almost as painful as watching my Tiges lose.
On the series itself, funnily enough the end result makes for worse reading than the 2010-11 Ashes (3-1) though that series we copped 3 demoralising innings defeats and were largely outplayed at Brisbane for the draw. In this series, Australia could've very easily been 3-1 up with favourable weather/patient, solid batting.
