Are we seeing the reason you never send the opposition in if you win the toss ??

Funny how the minute the Twenty 20 silly season starts we see our players getting out due to rash shot selection and impatience

No mate, this side hasn't batted well as a team for quite a while. Only one or two have batted well together in an innings for quite some time.

The poms have "had" us a few times this campaign only for someone to get us out of it. Not today.

Watson is not a number 3 batsman and never will be , Bailey got into the test side on one day form (go figure) and it shows. Warner can play a patient innings but appears to want to blast everyone all the time.

Smith is a young guy trying to cement his spot. Rogers is solid. Clarke is our premium batsman but he can't play well every game.

This innings was due.

Now lets see if this side really has any fight in it.

Agree it was probably coming but why get away from a formula that was working perfectly well

Bat first and make the Poms chase

Well said. The top order was not performing well at all. Warner mostly scored the centuries when the chips were up- same as Watson. Haddin is in a purple patch of form and bailey has been disappointing so far. Clarke and smith and haddin have performed well but the others are yet to prove themselves 100% IMO.

This innings was def coming .

Warner was averaging more then 90 runs this series before this match. He's been real quality this series.

Today the English bowled well and we weren't up to it. It's tough to score but we have to be better then what we were today. I'm not overly worried though. It's the first time the English have won a day and we're into the 4th test. Let's see how Australia respond tomorrow.

To me it's about scoring runs when it matters the most. Haddin has been exceptional at it this series.

We are way above them this series but let's not forget that even through this they have taken a lot of our wickets as well

I went to the BigBash last night and low and behold, there were green flares being used by the a Thunder as an affect. I was just a bit surprised to see it at the cricket.

Watching the Melbourne test, you'd think there are no bins at the MCG. Bloody grubs they are haha

Should be a great finish to the Test

Chasing another 203 runs probably won't be as easy as it sounds and Australian sides in the last 30 years have proven we can find away to lose the unlosable with run chases

Its one thing controlled flares on the field….its another thing flares down a soccer fans shirt, or in his lap

Exactly. I hate the exaggerated entertainment at T20 but controlled detonation of flares by professional pyros is different to the ultras that like to pop flares at the football.

On topic, the Aussies found themselves in a hole this morning, but Haddin once again leads from the front and drags us out of the proverbial with Lyon. Not to be outdone, they attacked the poms with the ball and won the day easily.

Calm, collected run chase is required tomorrow.

I hate how glorified flares are at soccer.
Are they all too dumb to realise the damage it could do?
If i was at a soccer game and someone near me lit a flare I'd be furious at them

Hows this bloke Dunk from Hobart going in the T/20 atm…64 off 26 balls so far....killin it...enjoyable to watch

Not from Brisbane point of view

I didn't think the Heat had a worry in the world ,went outside and was setting up the young fellas telescope and came back in and :wtf

Hopefully tomorrow's 201 runs won't be too much trouble but this pitch doesn't really allow for easy scoring. England are probably slight favourites with the runs already on the board but this could be very tight and I think the Aussies will get there.

Aussie chase looking good. Great to see the broken psyches of the English…especially the bar my army losers.
Even though Swann is weak coward for walking out on his mates I do understand his reasoning.

Disagree about the Barmy Army boys , these poor buggers pay good money to spend 2 months in Australia and their side play like they don't have a heartbeat

I think The Barmy Army add to the colour and excitement of an Ashes tour to be honest

Haha they are a bunch of arrogant, privelleged, arse wipes. Knowing they have done their dough makes this series victory all the more sweeter.
