They've sunk the money into him, so they've got to stick by him.

To be fair, we always get found out on pitches that offer a bit these days. We're largely flat track bullies.

Christ, they're look at any possible way they can give Lyon out (given it looked like it took a slight deviation off the bat from front on, but the hotspot couldn't conclusively determine where the mark came from.)

Bizarre though, Snicko didn't show jack. Surely that mark on hotspot would have given away a fairly sizeable nick on the microphone.

''Hard to believe the Aussies were nearly 9-118, they'd be thinking of a lead now'' - Michael ''captain obvious'' Hussey

I remember he said a few things that were blatantly obvious in the last Test as well that made me wonder why he was even in the box. Offers very little.

Doesn't get much plumber than that…don't think we'll see day 5...

4/84...

Nathan Lyon the new Stuart Broad? I can imagine the outrage if that was a call that went against the Aussies.

It's always disappointing for me whenever someone is blatantly out and they don't walk.

I missed it was he given out and he challenged and it was overturned or was he given not out Kiwis challenged and it was still not out…

Everyone is different was taught it's the Ump's job to give you out...good and bad calls will be made and they generally even themselves out in the end...

Given not out and the Kiwi's challenged it. The review went for about 5 mins. There was a mark on hot spot, and as soon as Lyon saw that, he started walking off, but despite the obvious mark, the third umpire said he didn't have enough evidence.

Oh… Ok cause I did see him half way to the fence when Warnie was banging on about it .... so he didn't walk straight away so it wasn't as if he belted the cover off it and stayed,,,did snicko show anything...?

Snicko showed nothing but I've heard apparently there can be an anomaly with Snicko when the ball glances the edge.

The ball deviates off the bat in the reply from front on, the ball rotation changes as well.

It was a terrible decision, but the Kiwis' can't blame it for dropping their bundle and keeping the spinners on, particularly when Starc was out there. Should have brought Boult and Southee straight back on to finish them off. McCullum is an awful captain.

I think if the Kiwi's can claw themselves to a lead of 200 that could be competitive. By the time the Aussies get back out there with the bat, it will most likely be entering the twilight hours when its a tricky time to survive.

There is also supposed to be an anomaly with ball tracking bounce height clipping stumps etc…not a massive fan of DRS myself...there seems to be still to many anomaly's...Leave it with the Ump's....

Unfortunately Marsh brothers shall not be in test squad on the current form.
Micheal Marsh shall be replaced by James Faulkner - much better batsman and bowler, or Moses Henriques if we want fast bowler or Stephen O'Keefe if we want an extra spinner.
Shaun Marsh was big disappointment, surely either Head, Dunk, Cowan or Ferguson deserve #3 spot before him on the current form.
