It's only BBL, who gives a stuff honestly…

Don't particularly about the game of BBL but they are about to host a day/night Test..a pre-requisite for that is Lights..

Yeah of course, I'm moreso referring to the people whinging about the BBL game being ruined. T20 is ruined merely by it's existence.

Not sure why Bellerive got overlooked for a Test anyway… Manuka got a game for Christ's sake...

And yes, I know they are playing the tour game at Bellerive, bit of a slap in the face to play the tour game in Hobart and the Test in Canberra.

I love the BBL it has reignited my love of cricket, I even watched some test match cricket this year which I have not done since the late 80s.

Surprise surprise, the batting is still rubbish. Pick Joe Burns they said, he’s the answer they said. Is there a more overrated batsman than Khawaja?

Trying to think of the last successful opener for Australia who wasn't dropped at least once throughout their career Hayden was Langer was

Kepler Wessels maybe , tough gig opening the batting against the best bowlers in world cricket

I reckon an opener should get at least 10 Tests before you make a decision

Even Harris must answer more questions …...has to go on and needs to concentrate ......todays dismissal was horrible ....bad ball .....worse shot :brick:

Also remember this is a day / night Test .....just makes it even harder

Richardson has to be the 2nd quick picked for the Ashes tour imo

Buy him a few dozen Duke balls now please Mr Roberts

I really like Mitchell Starc and will continue to back him but he needs to get it right soon - those 2 overs tonight were rubbish. Had we started with Cummins they may be 3 down.

It really makes me angry

It is plainly obvious that Starc only gets the new ball because unless he bowls short he is useless after 20 overs (or bowling at the tail )

Cummins is relegated to first change because he can bowl with the older ball

Starc has been our worst quick throughout the summer …...but I reckon he will be picked for the 1st Test in England .... :brick:

It’s frustrating. He seems to lose confidence so quickly. But you are right - he’ll open in test 1 in England.

On a different point - Patterson looks the goods

Will he cope in England v Broad and Anderson with the Duke ball

Probably not.

But neither will Warner, Burns, Khawaja, Renshaw, Head, etc etc

Smith will do well. Harris could go ok.

Dare I say it but Sean Marsh is probably well suited for English conditions

And a Test batting average that would beat all

Selectors add Stoinis to test squad. The infatuation with all-rounders continues. Unless you have a Kallis, Dev, Botham in your team you pick 6 batsmen, a keeper and 4 bowlers. KISS.
