Aussies making a fist of it - 2/145 off 21.3 overs chasing 334 for the win.

May I be the first to air my disgust at two suspect acts by England. Firstly, Johnathon Trott asks for a runne to run the rest of his innings out only to run a length to make a good catch and now is bowling, secondly Matt Prior dislodging the bail off a Yardy delivery to claim Johnson had been bowled.

You are both a disgrace to the game and I hope next time Trott deliberately runs in the path of the ball to avert a run out I hope it is aimed at his head!

Both of those things ticked me off as well bogan…almost cheatery by Trott great to see him drop the catch that probably would have won them the game - karma at it's finest right there.

What an unbelievable chase by the Aussies! Second time this series they've run down a mamoth total. They are looking really good.
I'll reiterate that England haven't played that bad yet we lead the series 5-1 bring on the world cup.

Absolutely brilliant run chase. I gave Australia next to no hope given we bowled poorly but geez they went about the run chase smartly. They didn't take too many risks and timed the batting power play to perfection.

Mitchell Johnson at #4 was a masterstroke. Good thinking by Clarke, really seems to be finding his feet in the captaincy role, and is finding form at the same time.

Couldn't have timed it better than just before the world cup!

Congrats to Watto for winning the ODI, Test Match player of the year awards as well as the AB Medal.

Fantastic year from him, luckily, as without him we would have won buggger all. He won the vote by 100 points and the next best was the Huss man.

Funnily enough it wasnt that long ago that people were on here screaming for them both to get the axe.

Kinda weak that an opener with 1 century is far and away out best player (in test cricket). He had a good year, but with all due respect it was a very ordinary bunch that he was the best of.

Congratulations to Sahane Watson on his award. A bit out of sequence but I agree with Bogan and Stryker in relation to their comments regarding Trott and Prior, I went out to the SCG for that game and at first wondered what was going on with Trott he went on as if he had suffered a serious injury then came out and bowled, a disgrace as they say 'it's not cricket' and puts the game in a bad light.

I agree that it was a very lean year for us in test cricket - 3 wins, 1 draw, 7 losses.
We went ok in the t20's, making the world cup final and having a few other scattered victories.
We had a good ODI year, re-affirming our status as the No.1 ranked side.

All in all it was still a passable year for us in world cricket, not withstanding our decline in the test arena, and Watto was the pick of the bunch. He wasn't far and away our best though MM, he lost the T20 award by 2 votes to Dave Hussey, won the ODI award by 1 point from Clarke and the Test award by 4 points from Johnson.

I do look forward to a more competitive 2011 though starting in a couple of weeks time

yeah but i think at test level last year he averaged higher than 40 with the bat and under 30 with the ball so he went pretty good

Johnson came second in the test rankings? The guy was garbage this year, he got dropped he was so bad at one point. Watson's test stats for 2010 are excellent for someone batting at 6, but for an opener they are solid at best. I guess he does bowl alright too, but 2010 was probably one of the weakest years for Aus cricket internationally in recent memory. look at the season results card

2-0 win over NZ in NZ
1-1 against Pakistan in England
0-2 loss to India in India
1-3 loss to England in Aus

4 wins 1 draw 6 losses, against decent opposition we were 1-1-5, our record was proped up by series against weaker teams.

ODI cricket and T20s we were very good as always.

What is going on with the World Cup coverage on 9? I just checked our first game against Zimbabwe (21 Feb) and it looks like Channel 9 are only showing the 2nd innings! :rant

Side note - Anyone here remember that Michael Clarke is a Wests Tigers fan.

Yeah but don't ask him to publicise it by say getting his photo taken with a player. I lost a stack of respect for him over that.

He was in the Tigers dressing room after a match talking with some of the players. A club official asked him if he would like to have his photo taken with Marshall and Farah I believe. His response was something along the lines of "No, a photo with NRL players would be damaging to my image."

Are you serious? that sounds like total bs to me. Someone would have dropped him for starters….

Don't know about that, if he actually did say what was alleged, I doubt the players would have acted in such a way to prove his point.

I hope this is not the case, thats not how a true fan acts.

Strange - I remember him being presented with a Tigers jersey on the older West tigers website.
